Recently I have had a need to go to a couple of churches whose location I did not know. They were not in the data base when searched by name. There does not seem to be a church in the locations data base. Then I remembered a funeral that I had to go to when I first got the car and that was not listed. I tried a few and was looking for St Mikes in Oly and the nearest St M was in Philadelphia? Search would not let me go past Saint M then offered me the choice in Pa. Any one else see this? Is this a plot? If so who is behind it? Or is it as usual my bad spelling that is behind this? I can get the locations by address but then I have to look it up on line or in the phone book.

I think it come down to the fact that the company that created the NAV software and database that Toyota is using had to draw the line somewhere, and mosques, synagogs and churches apparently did not make the cut. I will assume that they either had a limited amount of space or not enough accurate data and feared that if they included some religious institutions that those left out would be offended and felt it better to exclude all of them.

Fortunately you can add them by address to your system, but you would obviously have to know the address.

Yea, and in today's world then we would have people bombing Prius and calling for a boycott of all Toyota products.

I think it's a plot cooked up by those Japanese Buddhists who made this car. Pat Robertson should get on this at once!

It just seems strange. Weddings and funerals. That is when you are directed to a religious institution who's location you do not know. I think the Shinto folks in Japan are in on it as well. Or maybe the Toyota people did not want the Prius converted to auto drive car bombs. Well enough of that or I will get moved to FHOP. My Garmin has the data in it. I just think it is odd. I am glad others have observed this as well and it is not just my bad spelling!! All the more reason to have a Mac Mini installed with wireless internet. Then you could look things up on the internet! Then all we would need is a small App to transfer the address to the Nav system!

<_< For locations not in the DVD database, I program in the exact street address. I find the NAV system requires accurate street names, such as Central Road or Central RD or Central DR, etc. and not just "Central." So close guesses sometimes simply don't work. You might enter "Central" and get a list of possibles, then need to select the exact one you need... can be confusing.

I must agree, the DVD can only contain a finite amount of detail and the various worship centers must have been omitted for that reason.

I had to find a funeral home last week and just programmed the address into the system and drove right there. Yeah- I'd just as soon not have my car be a target because Toyota offended some religious fanatics by omission.

Even more disturbing is the lack of adult entertainment locations in the Nav . Something I would use way more than a church location.

Are you sure you have the right region selected? Those 2 places you mentioned were east of the Mississippi and you live on the west coast....
