Should we invade Britain now?

After all they have terrorist citizens who are determined to do harm to us. The country also has weapons of mass destruction. Yes the government was successful in stopping this latest attempt, but remember they were unable to stop the london bus bombings. That's a 50% success rate. That's 50% less than what ought to be expected. Likely another attack will occur and likely it wil be directed at us. We should invade them to fight the war on terror over "there" so that it won't spill over "here".

The scale of the invasion will have a lot to do with exchange rates, room rates, and whether it is peak tourist season or not. :p

In the “'You-Are-Either-With-Us-Or-Against-Us†category, Great Britain is definitely in the With Us category.

Also in the With Us category is Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, Russia, Germany, Canada, Australia, etc. (and yes, even France  ).

Those countries decidedly NOT in the With Us category were Afghanistan and Iraq. Others are currently working their way into inclusion into this club.

Funny, I didn't know Afghanistan had any major amounts of oil. <_<

Does "we" refer to the USA here? If so I can tell you the invasion started years ago, and continues. The invaders are fairly conspicuous in parts of London and are referred to as "tourists". Quite a few are living in my area at the moment and are no doubt up to something for they rent cars and disappear into the countryside all day but I've no idea what they're doing. Sometimes I see them walking slowly in pairs down the main street. They can usually be recognised because the men tend to wear very colourful shirts, and shorts. They are often disguised as very elderly people but one can see through the disguise because they seem to be full of energy and eat large quantities of food in restaurants.

The US is already sending Air Marshals to 'help' in the fight. Or are they the advanced party?

I would be in favour of a US invasion of the UK as it would help to formalise (sorry Mr Webster, 'formalize') the situation that already exists ('Yo Blair' and all that). We've already imported US TV, US foreign policy and we are drifting towards US-style presidential politics - I'd much rather have the real thing than our second rate imitation.

Since we pay the equivalent of $6.78 per US gallon for unleaded petrol (sorry, gas) in the UK, and yet have an obsession with mid-size SUVs and 4x4s, I propose that the invasion force should be led by members of this forum. They should immediately pass legislation making a Prius purchase mandatory (you can have any colour as long as it's a Pri). This would send the motoring press underground, particularly one vehemently anti-Prius 'journalist' (Jeremy Clarkson) who probably fears that he will be assassinated by a Prius being driven in electric mode running him over (any volunteers?).

In the "you are either with us or against us" phrase, I find myself thinking of the Obi-Wan line in Revenge of the Sith in reply to the same question asked by the newly enobled Darth Vader

"Only Sith deal in absolutes..." Oh dear...

So as a pretext, we asked Al Quada and the Taliban to set up shop in Afghanistan and then perform the horrific deeds of 9/11 . . . so we could spend much larger sums of money invading Afghanistan than we would have paid to just outright purchase said natural gas on the open market?

OH! NOW I GET IT!!!!

Actually, no... The US helped the Taliban set up shop in Afghanistan to make trouble with the Russians. At that time, muslim fundamentalists were fine if they could help ennoy the Soviets.

Per above, Britain has been cleverly invaded on a regular basis by waves of US tourists in disguise. Oddly, the Brits welcome this invasion.

In Afganistan the plan was to keep Russia from getting closer to more oil but I guess we didn't realize we'd get smacked back by the people we were helping.

Possible solution to getting more oil from Iraq to market, what if the Iraq government gave every Iraqi a percentage of the oil revenue, think they would begin to watch the pipline and turn in the bad guys ?

Timothy McVey called, he wants his van back. We've got as many here, as they have over there.

A simple screening process to round up all the people with good teeth might reveal most non-Irish terrorists in Britain.

The American tourists can be excluded through simple visual observation and obesity.

I know what you mean. We have them here too. They all wear white socks and sandals. They are also sporting some sort of "football shirt", (Man United, Arsenal, etc.) They can be found walking along the side of the Interstate at all hours of the night. They are very easy to see at the beginning of the fortnight as they are "stark white" in color. Towards the end, they seem to have a "lobster- pink" tint to them, which makes them a bit harder to see at night.

    Cheers,

The Britts can and will kick a$$ on their own radicals, they don't need our help, only for us to cheer them on as they begin to start wackin some of the idiots within.

The radicals should have waited a few more years before starting the crap. It's possible the Britts will clamp down on them and run them out now. Had they waited 10 more years and kept having 22 kids per family it wouldn't be long before they are the majority there and run the country by democratic vote.

Go Britts, wack 'em hard and wack 'em often!

In Iraq I think we have found it wasn't a good idea not to have enough folks who speak the local dialect on our team. When misunderstandings arose, violence often resulted from the confusion.

With Britain, we should be up to speed on their language in about ten years if we start studying real hard right now. It's a tricky tongue......

It doesn't and the people that continue to make this charge against America are clueless.
