rofl! ya...update! I talked with Toy again today and asked if they will be adding anything in replacement of Pandora...fat chance. Classic reply "we currently do not have any information on any replacement being added to Entune". I could put my fist through the Entune screen for having such a failed radio system in otherwise a great car.

That's a bit of sad reasoning...it's more like compromise. We shouldn't be compromising for our hard earned money that we gave Toyota for a car. I get what your saying that the radio and stuff isn't as important as the engine and the efficiency. I do agree with ya but you don't put on a suit and then finish it off with a zip-up hoody. The end doesn't justify the means or compromise the means. All of it's important especially since Toy has ALL of our money for the car we bought from them already. This is why Toy engineers behind the Entune program are getting away with being lazy...figuring the customer is more concerned about engine reliability than smaller details and no one will complain enough for a change. It's classic big corp run around.

The email inspired me to research replacing my radio.

A week later and I installed an avic-w8400nex with CarPlay myself and could not be happier. Kept all features, reused XM and nav antenna with SAT TO2 adapter, no visible wires, looks great and works better.

I have removed the entune app from my phone and will deregister my account on the site. From now on I will buy the cars with entry level radios and take this radio from car to car.

Could you attach a picture of your installation? I was wondering how this could be done with out totally mangling the dashboard.

This is the best video for removing the stock radio and is what I did. It is very easy.

That device by itself will allow you to mirror your iPhone on the stock head unit, but I did not use it, I wanted the many more features of the avic-w8400nex. In the Gen 4 audio subforum on page 4 of the big thread in there are pictures of what the unit looks like installed(avh-w4400nex, very similar unit and install procedure) and mine looks much the same. It essentially looks stock.
