my brakes started working badly ,at the same time i got 2 dash lights, (the red brake) and (the abs) , . codes were pulled using a bosch hand held reader, they were c1247 <stroke sensor> and c1256. <(accumulator low pressure>..... the brakes would work, then let go and i would have to push down harder, this would happen in a fairly predictable pattern, about twice every time i would brake from speed to a complete stop. my first action was to change the front brake pads, even though they were not worn badly, i had to push the caliper cups maybe 3/8" to install the new pads. then tried to reset the codes with the bosh handheld to no avail. and the brakes still acted the exact same way. (((only after getting the codes cleared with TECH STREAM "the toyota dealer system" did my brakes start working properly again....hope this helps somebody trouble shoot their brakes. this was my 2005 gen 2.
