I noted that I purchased a "Scosche TA2105B Dash Kit" from Crutchfield. If memory serves, that included the faceplate.

There is a cable with a female usb port coming out from behind my glove compartment. The white apple USB lightning cable plugs into that. I leave the lightning cable in the car at all times. I tend to leave it draped over the center arm rest.

    No.

About to install the AVH-W4400NEX that I bought from Crutchfield this weekend in my 2010 Prius (non nav, w/ JBL) . I've soldered a good bit before so am not too concerned about making the harness connections outside of the vehicle. There are two wires that Crutchfield said need to go to my OBDII port. Do I physically splice and connect to it under the steering wheel area near the port? Any thoughts? I don't remember seeing anything in the instructions posted here about tapping into the car wiring but maybe I missed it.

    Detail from Crutchfield below:

"As for the OBDII connectors, those are the data bus connection between the vehicle and the PAC module. Without those, the module won't generate a parking brake or reverse output for the Pioneer.

To get signal for these wires in this vehicle, connect the long white/red to pin 6 in the OBDII port and the long white/black to pin 14. Use the purple/white and light green from the interface connector on the PAC unit, not the 'vehicle' connector (there are two sets of each)."

Plan to upgrade to a 2300nex this weekend. I have a 6200nex on my jeep jk, and 2300nex on my mitsu outlander sport.

What about the energy monitor and some other Prius original features? Did you lose them?

@jackmilas, yes as the OEM Head unit is replaced by a third party Head unit. I have driven my car 100k miles.. and looked at those features 2x. I love my CarPlay!!! If you have HUD it will continue to work but you will loose the Navigation portion of the HUD, everything else works fine. I added a 12v to 6v buck converter to keep my rearview camera for 3 dollars.

looks amazing, I too am looking to make my 2010 Type 2 into a bluetooth connected rolling multimedia sound system with backup camera. Def am impressed with the final fit/finish of the deck & dash kit of yours. Was looking at a double din Pioneer w/out Navigation since I'm not going to need it. Just want calls/music through bluetooth & a backup camera. Also to look half as nice as yours.
