Their map is kind of intriguing. It appears to glorify speeding (despite the area's typical 30 mph), which some deliberately go there to do, which causes people to either get injured, killed, or they'll kill somebody else. Having property not too many hours away, a few years back, we took i40 east - & stayed in a cabin in the Smoky Mountains that had electricity, but no running water. Quite rustic, beautiful scenery , & a very beautiful area for a drive. Thank goodness for the many slow drivers that go there, that keep the crazies from doing crazy things. Stay safe!

35 mph seems slow BUT these are serious hairpin curves, we pulled over several times to let motorcycles speed by, not to mention climbing up the side of a mountain and back down. Fun driving experience, none the less.

We were in our old Model S. I will say - having 1½ tons of battery just 6" above the road + over 500hp & 500'Lbs of torque makes curvaceous driving fun, too. The downside? The better ½ went through a set of Continental's in just 16K miles.

Thank goodness for the OTA software update to "chill" mode .... tires last a lot longer.

Dragon's tail was on my bucket list when I was riding, but I never got there.

But we made up for it when we lived on Roatan. The road from French Harbor up to Oak Ridge followed the spine of the island. Much of the way, you could see the Caribbean on both sides. There were two straight stretches of about 1/8 of a mile each. There were no other straightaways . Period. We rarely got beyond 2nd gear in our Nissan Frontier. I would have LOVED to ride that if not for all the taxi drivers taking their half of the road out of the middle.
