Haven't bought yet but might buy soon. I got the following quotes. Buying in the NY area. I will see if the NJ pricing is better even without the NY rebate.

    2018 Prius Prime Premium
    MSRP $30,353
    Toyota Rebate - $4,000
NY Clean Air Rebate - $1100
    Dealer Discount - $1684
    Before TTL /Fees - $23,569

    2018 Prius Prime Advanced
    MSRP - $34,593
    Toyota Rebate - $4,000
NY Clean Air Rebate - $1100
    Dealer Discount - $1,886
    Before TTL /Fees - $27,607

I feel the dealer discounts are on the lower end, was hoping to see discounts of around 3k or so. I will keep searching but so far this is the best prices I've found. These prices do not include the $4,502 federal rebate.

Well as you can probably tell, how all this works is new to me lol. I didn’t realize that the Toyota region discounts were only when purchasing new cars directly from the dealer. Just to make sure I understand correctly, those don’t apply to used vehicles from an authorized dealer? Are there any 2017 Prius primes that qualify for the region incentives? If so what’s the best way to find them? Lastly, does the federal tax credit only apply to new cars?

    Thanks in advance!

Sales tax applies on the $4000. Multiple NJ dealers said that's the state rule. For those who deduct $4k in their car price quote before TTL, I believe their TTL has to include the sales tax on the $4k.

From my experience you won't find an NJ dealer offering a dealer discount that can beat the NY discount + NY rebate you listed. I haven't seen that high a discount even when buying 2017 models in 2018 in NJ.

Manufacturer's incentives only apply to new cars. Toyota doesn't list an incentive for the 2017 Prime so the dealer will have to give a bigger discount than the 2018s if they want to sell a 2017. The tax credit only applies to new cars. Please read up on the EV tax credit before purchasing a vehicle.

-Msrp (this is sticker price) $30,228
-Incentives (specify if Toyota rebate or dealer markdown) $3000 Toyota Rebate from NY
    -Selling price before TTL $26,000
-Out the door price (after TTL/fees, specify tax %) $27,560 out of state so no Title/license fees from dealer think it was about $260 using old plate and 6% sales tax in PA

Not as good a deal as those on the East Coast, but I just picked up a Prime Plus for $23,794 before TTL in California. After Federal, State, and utility rebates the effective price is $17,342.

Toyota of Downtown Los Angeles. Search their inventory online and use the button to request a price. That engages the Internet sales department which claims to have lower prices than walk-ins and call-ins. The salespeople get commission on volume and customer surveys, not price.

No, $1500 cash back. I did finance, but only because the dealer refused to take a credit card for payment. I will use the credit card to pay the balance as soon as I receive the first bill. The credit card is 0% APR for 20 months, so I can pay around $1,300 per month interest-free while the cash I was going to pay with collects more interest in the bank.

Financing at 0.9% would have cost me approximately $2,100 more over the life of the loan than taking the $1,500 cash back and paying cash.

Not sure if this is applicable to every region, but got an email from one of the dealers : Toyota has increased its toyota cash by $500 in the New England region as a part of its Black friday offering. So the new Rebate would be $3500 for the next 10 days beginning tomorrow. (Nov 15th).

As of today the rebate is $3000 in the New England region

Not sure if Toyota Finance will let you use a credit card for payment but others have not.

Worst case I'll pay directly, but even that was impossible because the dealer wanted a cashier's check and my bank is online only. Neat little scam to keep people from bypassing Toyota Motor Credit though.

Here is the latest Inventory update for Nov 15.

    Highlights:
    2018 model
Central atlantic region inventory has doubled in the last 15 days.
CA (north and south) inventory has gone down a bit.
Overall Inventory (Country total) has gone up by 30 vehicles in the last 15 days.

    2017 Model:
New england region has got the last two 2017 models sold in these 15 days.

    Thanksgiving incentives:
As of today - New England has got an increase of $500 Toyota cash for Thanksgiving/Black Friday ($3500 - till Nov 26).

All other regions have the same old toyota cash offers that are valid for the month of November ( SoCAL and NorCal - $1500, Central Atlantic and Pacific Northwest- $3000, Greater NY - $4000, All other regions - Nil).

Seems like the thanksgiving deals are all regional in nature. As of now the only rebate increase happened in NE. Not sure if there is a different timeline for other regions. Hope this helps.

So I guess I do not qualify for the $1,500 California State rebate if I buy my Prime from out of state and it doesn't look like there is any work around.......sound right?
I assume the fed Tex credit isn't affected by where you buy the vehicle......correct?
