New to the forum, first post.

We have a 2018 Prius Four with the 11.6" screen. Several older threads have discussed the "daylight saving time on/off" functionality of the navigation system's clock (NOT talking about the clock on the instrument cluster that is manually set using the steering controls). While it's pretty slick that the system utilizes GPS to determine which time zone you're in and will auto-adjust the clock accordingly (if you so wish), seeing the other option of "Daylight Saving Time" with an ON/OFF setting leads one to believe that it, if turned ON, would also auto-adjust the time for daylight savings. But it doesn't. It appears that this setting is actually just a MANUAL setting that you must change, twice a year, each time you're in or out of daylight savings.

Has anyone confirmed this? I've checked two of my manuals (OM47C03U and OM47C01U), and all they really say is that his function is to "set the daylight saving time on/off".

Based on what I saw when the UK clocks changed a couple of weeks ago... I had to manually adjust the clock on the instrument cluster via the DST setting, but the Sat Nav clock adjusted automatically. I don't know of any way to manually adjust the Sat Nav clock.

I don't think that there is any automatic change for DST.

Considering the relatively frequent changes in the rules for when and where daylight saving time is observed, and the absence of a DST indicator in the GPS signal, perhaps Toyota decided that it would be better to allow drivers to control this setting themselves, rather than issuing software updates for older vehicles just to keep the DST rules up to date.

Considering that the hardware to incorporate "Atomic Clock" (here in the States, WWVB from Fort Collins CO.) is incredibly cheap, I'm baffled as to why car companies have never seem fit to use them to auto update the dash clock.

Goes back again to the even simpler adage that even a stopped clock is accurate twice a day...
