HV Blower service

    My wife took our 2012 Prius to the dealership for routine maintenance.

    The Dealership recommends "blower service (hv blower motor) for $469.99

    is this price too much? is this a cost of a replacement or just cleaning?

    Please advise.

    Don’t do it! And yes they only clean the HV fan. You can do it yourself easily. Check our YouTube video

    Just wondering, short of some catastrophic failure, are there symptoms that indicate when the blower fan should be cleaned?

    It’ll give you a check engine light that will say the HV battery is overheating.
