So last night, someone decided to smash my rear hatch window (the big curved one). It doesn't look like they were trying to break in to steal anything. Regardless, I'm wondering if anyone has had to change this window and what the cost was. I will most likely have to call my insurance, unless it's cheaper than my 500 deductible. 20181111_211010.jpeg 20181111_210959.jpeg 20181111_210947.jpeg 20181111_210934.jpeg

There are other threads here on replaced rear windows.
Figure on about $1000 for the glass and labor.

Unfortunately it's probably a dealer only part unless you get lucky and find a junk yard that has it on hand.
Happened to my dad. He has a 12y.o. Audi wagon and some numb nut broke his hatch window. Cost $1200 at dealer and had to wait 2 weeks for special order.
Hey check eBay and Craigslist. You have nothing to lose.

So I ended up going through my insurance company (all state) to have the window replaced because my local stealership wanted $780 bux just for the window not including labor. Which was more than my $500 deductible.

Luckily I had glass coverage with my policy and ended up costing me a grand total of $100, and they used a company Safelite (http://www.safelite.com) to replace my window with a OEM Toyota glass rear window.

Safelite provides a lifetime warranty on their installation, so if there's any future leaks or anything, it is free of cost for the repairs. The cleanup and installation took about 2 and a half hours.

Next.. Mgetting the rear window tinted after the 72 hour waiting period.
