FWIW, My Moroso can came with R7, and I've had no problems, no odor. I believe R6 is very similar in construction.

It's been 12,000k since I did all this work and the Prius is purring like a kitten. I've now collected roughly 5oz of oil mixture since the install about 6 months ago. (y)

It's been 15K miles since installing the OCC and all major ICE component cleaning. Roughly have collected 7oz of fluid substance over 6 months. Prius runs great at 135K. No oil consumption issues.:)

update : so I’ve been getting surprised whenever I check the OCC lately. Today, after only 1k since my last check, I thought surely it would not even need an empty... but to my dismay, the OCC was nearly full!

No doubt it was full enough that some mixture was sloshing back into the PCV.

This is strange because while I have not even had the OCC installed a full year yet, I haven’t experienced anything like this. The amount of oil / gasoline mixture has probably tripled from over the summer.

I can’t imagine checking this only when changing the oil. Yikes!

    Worth checking often;).

I bet you’re glad you installed the catch can though:).

Better than sending it through the intake manifold like it would have otherwise(y).

Since the rain has come out here, the air quality is fantastic :).

Shouldn’t have to worry about fire concerns the rest of this year ;).

Just watching the Apple Cup and thankful I’m down here where it doesn’t snow(y).
