I've done a search and i'm looking for the under dash block/wiring diagrams (what each wire on each block goes to) if anyone has posted it (other than buying service manuals). What I'm doing is modifying the George Myers auto door lock to opperate on the park button light vs power button. That way (as far as I see) until I'm actually ready to move (drive, reverse) light on unlock, light off lock (or pressing the park button). Either of course with the brake peddle pressed (on).
I'm looking for info not a discussion on safety of locking.
Coastal Tech is out of stock on the autolock and I don't want to pay $70 for my lazyness to lock/unlock on the door.
Of course the pro/cons of doing it this way are welcome. I've read the other posts on autolock but none about autounlock.

    Wire for P button.
    Wire for Door unlock

I have the brake , power button, door lock, power and ground wires and blocks from George's diagram (thanks).

    Anyone thought of proximity unlock?

Thanks for the info on the various signals!

Also, by "Proximity unlock", you mean basically bypassing the need to put your fingers on the strip to have the SKS unlock? So, when SKS comes into range, it pops the lock right away? Seems like a cool mod, as every now and then I "beat" the SKS and pull the handle to fast and have to do it again.

Would be even cooler to add an extra motor to the door to actually unlatch the door automatically. Have to add some logic there most likely, but I'm good with embedded systems so it shouldn't be too hard.

I did the proximity unlock. When the dome light comes on when you approach it unlocks the door. Car off, in park, dome comes on, doors unlock. FYI if you are in the car and use the door dome switch the doors do not unlock.
The problem is with a unlatch the door is if you just walk by the car with your keys or you are washing your car, it will pop the door.
As it is after a minute the door relocks if you don't open it.
    Works for me.
I also used this while I had the car apart to install auto lock. Exit the car as long as the auto dome is active headlights are on and door unlocked. After a minute doors lock, lights off.

Thanks for the link for the diagrams. I didn't see anything there about your mods in particular, just the factory stuff. (My Italian is a little rusty though)

Care to share any tips on how to implement these mods? Are we talking a few diodes and maybe a relay or two?

    Thanks!

    The links are factory stuff.

Depends on the mod. Some mods are just a diode. Some are simple logic. It's hooking up to the right place which requires the wiring schematic. The proximity unlock is a 555 that triggers pulse on dome power on to a relay completes the path as the door switch does. Put a diode inline so that the dome switch on doesn't trigger the door unlock.

Autodoor lock on exit is about the same. 555 starts to count down time at engine off, dome on (not via dome switch). Time start keeps lights on, time out pulses door lock, breaks path and lights off. Lights on are my LED drl lights from KK6PD mod.
    http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...about-60-led-drl-turn-signal-in-one-bulb.html

Door autolock at mph>1 is a 555 compare to the speed pulse. Allows lock set at any speed. If you unlock the door to let someone out it relocks again on mph>1.

Mirror green light off except at night is a diode. Power the mirror circuit only when the lights for night are on.

Autounlock at P (or push power button puts in P) is a lowpower AND GATE, transistor and diode.
    Always diode protect.

I used a quad 555. Sometimes as a oneshot, sometimes as a timer, sometimes as a compare.

    Thanks for the info!

This looks like a job for a microcontroller. A small one on a chunk of perf board could be programmed with all these functions and more. If it was only a couple of diodes then it would be different, but if I am going to start using 555's (a quad no less, I didn't know they made anything other than the 556 dual!), then for me a microcontroller makes more sense.

Another hack I'm thinking of is a remote start/timed start, and maybe a hack to allow you to keep the climate controls on while you leave the car. (Not very "green" I know, but sometimes handy).

I could probably combine the functions into one unit, all these cool hacks along with the required transponder emulation.

Even cooler would be to interface a prepaid cell phone so you can "text" the car instructions and it can text you back responses, that way you can set things from any location.

    I guess I'm getting carried away! :)
