PA080 Replace Hybrid Battery Pack on a 75k mile 2012 Prius

    He's replacing them with used ones with matching voltages/capacities so as to balance the battery pack. Or that's what he told me anyway! :)

    I hope so! But just think of the number of trips I'd have to take to the service center! So many Saturdays! :(

    You know, I know I should and I have it all planned in my head, but somehow it never seems to work out. I always end up NOT saving for a new battery. LOL

    Saving is hard. Seems like you are wasting the money, it's just sitting there.
    But when you need it, you'll be glad you did!

    Possibly a bit OT, but I just bought a 2010 Prius, it's getting only about 42mpg, and our 2013 gets right at 50 mpg, same driving style. I suspect plugs are wearing out (132k mi), and will replace them, but when I hooked up my wifi OBD reader it said the hybrid battery pack has 67% life left. Anyone know what that means specifically? Honestly I was a bit surprised to see any battery data on my basic OBD reader.

    What reader give HV battery data?
    I wonder what sort of formula/data they are using for such a pronouncement.
