The good Professor. I enjoy all his videos. That's a lot of hoses to replace (someday.)

I like the suggestion of using the vent setting "Defrost/Floor" to activate the engine for warm-up. The ICE came right on this morning. I'm old school... I like a minute of idle before I start driving. Especially in these cold 60 degree mornings. :ROFLMAO: (And maybe I haven't driven for two or three days.) Then I switch the vent back to upper, and take off.

I like the quiet exit - let the ICE fire when I'm in the next street. Better than my neighbour who leaves at 5:40am in his Diesel Hilux (Tacoma?) - he ever so quietly closes his door, but then the diesel rattle Grrrr. Then at 6am, his wife does the same in her diesel FOCUS.

    Exiting silently makes a statement.

I park in the street, along with dozens of other vehicles. No worries about one car idling bothering anyone. I'm surprised how quiet my Prius idles.

My area is a cacophony of daily noise polution, with a major boulevard only 20 feet away from the building. All we hear is the constant droan of tradfic noise, speeders, racers, motorcycles, sirens, occasional accidents, police helicopters, airplanes taking off.... The price to pay for living in the big city.

I've got a motorway 100metres away behind me which gives some back-ground noise, but the neighbour's cars are parked right near my bedroom windows. The street is almost deserted at night, maybe the occasional car.

Routine de hiver, with generic music.

Cannot use the seat heaters, I never remember to turn them off.
I wish at some point Toyota could locate the seat heating controls to a more sensible location.

Im too lazy to install the cabin pre-heater. All wiring and block heater installed already. I have some experiences of forgetting to unplug before reversing car. So just turning seat heater on and Im good to go.

I have my block heater plug coming through the front lower grill, securely zip tied (multiple ties) so that if it just dangles it is not hanging low enough to drag on the ground. Also, the extension cord it plugs into is secured to a strong point, in such away that it'll pull out easy, when the car's backed away about a meter.

For 4th gen Prius owners, you also need to be cognisant of the active grill shutters, route the cord so as not to impeded them.

That is very true also. Mine has a long cord (I have it at the end of an 5 meter extension cord, so I should notice when backing up, if I forget.
If it's still running then the noise from the cabin pre-heater helps to remember.

The seat heaters? I've left them on for weeks by mistake.
Swetty butt syndrome ensues on longer trips :).

Hmmm. I think you just gave me an idea for a great mod. The seat heater switches in the Gen 3 are in a TERRIBLE place. It can't be that hard to re-locate them. I predict a weekend project in my near future.

I believe it's been fixed for the midlife update. I saw a video of the interior and it appears to have been relocated to the area between the cupholders and the wireless charging pad. It's unconfirmed since I haven't seen the car in real life but that's what I saw from one of the videos from the LA Auto Show.

Well, now I'm not so sure. I have exactly two blank holes where I could cleanly relocate the switches without butchering the dash. But they are hidden behind the left side of the steering wheel. Not quite as hard to see, but impossible for the passenger to reach. Still thinking..........

Move just the drivers. I mean it's not you that usually has to control the passenger's.

The heated seat for Prime (and probably for Gen 4) driver's switch is also at the awkward position very low on the front dash, but not impossible to reach while driving. My problem is that driver can't reach the switch for the passenger's heated seat. It is fine if passenger turn's on and off, but often my passenger (i.e. my wife) turn it on but never turn it off when she goes out of the car. Following day, I am driving alone, and passenger seat heat is still on. I can't turn the darn passenger seat heat switch off while I am driving. Very frustrating.

But the passenger's switch is the one I can't see. That's the whole problem. Moving the driver's switch would make both of them out of view.

    Same here. :(

Same here and my wife does not like me reminding that if you turn it on, pls remember to turn it off.
If Toyota insists on keeping the switches down there, they could at least have an on/off light that's visible.

At least for Prime (and Gen4?) you can see when the passenger side heated seat is ON. The indicator is just under the driver side switch. You just can't reach the switch from the driver side.

See the diagram in the above comment. Doesn't Gen4 has the same passenger heated seat indicator light?

Yes it does. But I'm 182cm tall and moderately chubby, I can't get into a position on the seat where I could see those indicators. When I get in the car they're off.
Maybe if I started yoga or something.
Or to use Japanese terms I'm closer to a lightweight sumo wrestler than a ninja...

Do you have a blank below the POWER button it was that removed for 2012 onwards? On the 2010-2011, that’s where the Pre-Support button for the IPA went and so most models had a blank there. You could relocate the passenger one there if it still exists.
