Kona and Niro ... let me know when my local dealers can sell and service them.

For every Leaf, I see a couple of dozen Prius. For every hundred Prius, I see maybe one Volt, a half Bolt and maybe a Tesla.

It is affordability and availability. As well as features and marketing.

Cars will be available as people stop buying as they see their 401Ks tanking. Real estate slowing. etc.

I don't see why they won't become available in the future.
In the case of the Ioniq Electric, I think Hundai was unprepared for the demand, and limited it to California because of supply.

Turns out the Kona Electric won't be truly nationwide. Though you may get it in Boston.

Yes sparkie the Volt (460,000 miles) has a marginal battery and a broken charger that fails the gfi test.

At low temps Under heavy acceleration his motor fired up but otherwise his car runs as a normal hybrid.

The Volt can indeed Brick if sensors fail in the pack or on the fluid reservoir , a definite design defect.

turns out, depending on which article you read, it will be Nationwide, eventually.
    https://www-cnet-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.cnet.com/google-amp/news/hyundai-kona-electric-limited-market-release/?amp_js_v=a2&amp_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQHCAFYAYABAQ%3D%3D#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&amp_tf=From%20%251%24s&ampshare=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cnet.com%2Froadshow%2Fnews%2Fhyundai-kona-electric-limited-market-release%2F

It's just in high demand so it will take a while. CARB States 1st. Since that's where most of the cars are, that's not too terrible.

I am told they have a big announcement at the next auto show.

Never know, I would have rather had the original EV1 Body style but I guess some non ideal electrification is better than none

Just wait it will be EV mustangs, Cameros and Corvettes

In other words no suitable daily driver replacement

That said I respect the efficiency of the M3, just not worth the bank for me and still would want a range extender

Ah well, maybe in 5 years I’ll pickup a used m3

A crossover version of the Buick Volt in China is already heading to market, if not available now.

I'm not sure if that means anger due to discontinuation because it's so loved? Or Glory because it's hated. Jeez, even as the first 2019 version rolled off the line, people seemed very happy they increased the on-board charger capacity to 7.2kW's. Well, that's an old expression, the light bulb or candle always Burns brightest right before it permanently goes out.
2016 / Rev II - took care of that kind of stuff though, didn't they?

Volt is too small for most drivers. If they can make a Clarity like vehicle it could be different.

Nah based on asking the average US driver what they want you end up with this being the ideal size

Clarity and other cars are selling meh numbers as well

If you can point to a car that sells a million units a year like a Ford truck wake me
