This is all without warning no weirdness leading up to this.

Last night I'm driving about 65 on the interstate and my 2007 lurches a little bit and the red triangle lights up and It feels like it has ZERO power I limp on to the next exit at 40 mph and Im really pressing the accelerator. Its also making a slight Whirring or Whining noise from under the hood.

It feels like I've run out of gas (I haven't). I pull off the exit and into a gas station only 2 blocks away. I check the oil and put 5 gallons of gas in to make sure its NOT empty and the gauge is wrong. I start it back up and drive over around a hotel parking lot ...Its still very sluggish I pound the accelerator and it seems to come out of it I drive it about half a mile park it leave it sit for about 10 min and I start it again and it comes on with No Red Triangle. I thought that's a weird thing to happen. Thinking things were all Great as it was driving fine I reached up and hit the Energy button on the monitor and BOOM 3 pink lines!

Immediately after that the red triangle came back on and I got to a gas station parking lot again shut it off. with 1 Pink line.

I couldn't leave it there so I had it towed home last night.

I replaced the 12v battery last year Is it the Hybrid battery?

    Could be the HV batt.

Get the codes read, preferably with Techstream. Do NOT disconnect the 12V battery, as that will clear codes (except ABS).

After adding 5 gallons of gasoline, what is the fuel gauge reading now?

Look at the inverter coolant reservoir (located between the engine and the inverter) when the car is either IG-ON or READY. The inverter coolant pump should be running, and you therefore should see fluid turbulence within the reservoir. If you do not see this, the pump has failed.

If it’s the original hybrid battery I would bet it has failed. You may have noticed poor mileage and or poor power meaning the engine is revving a lot more to get going or the first sign is the hybrid battery tanks to one purple bar pretty fast just sitting in a drive through.

It’s probably thrown a high volt ground fault meaning the car is detecting a hi volt leak. You can confirm this
By unplugging the main 12 volt battery lead thereby clearing all logged codes and faults allowing you to drive for a while till it logs it again.
Easiest way to boot the 12 volt is unclick the white connector on the big fat black lead from the positive battery post black plastic Assy. Wait 2 minutes and plug it back in. Codes cleared if you can drive away it’s the battery.
It may be the inverter pump But the sad fact is no matter what your still looking at the hybrid battery to fail soon. It’s 13 years old.
    I assume it’s a high mileage car 200k plus?
