    Hi folks.

My window started acting funny. The driver's side rear window. This window will roll up then roll down halfway. I will then roll the window down and back up. The windows still persists to roll down halfway.
Please help with a process. Thank you.

Something is impeding the automatic closing. Check debris in the window tracks.

Here's the fix. I have a 2014 Prius V. The procedure is... First go to the window that's having the problem. Roll the window down and hold the button down for 5 seconds after it's been rolled down. Next roll the window up keep holding the button four five seconds after it's been rolled up. That should fix the problem. Then go to the driver side window control panel and test the broken window

The system is quite sensitive. if it senses a load, be it debris, the channel pinching slightly, or even stickiness (say, due to pine pitch), it will reverse to half open.

If there is a process, it's likely remove the 12V power and treat it like allowing the automatic closing logic to re-learn. That may fix it.

If you disconnected the battery, that's when it lost any "learning". If you then follow post #5 instruction, hopefully it'll relearn. See page 113 in Owner's Manual too (1-5. Opening and Closing Windows).

If you disconnected the 12v battery and couldn’t fix it then the master switch is the problem. Especially if the right hand rear window switch actually works to go up and down. Something is wrong with the master switch and the part probably needs to be replaced.

I seldom use the rear windows in my Prius v. Four years after I got the car, I had the problem of the driver's side rear window not going all the way up.

I tried the reset procedure but it did not work. I took the car to my dealer with whom I have a very good relationship. They tried the switch procedure, too. They could not get it to reset.

Apparently, the motor was not correctly "timed" at the factory. Even out of warranty, my dear's service department, got Toyota to pay to have it fixed for me, since they agreed that it was a factory assembly defect.

Here is a link to how it is done, if you want to do it yourself. It does require removing and repositioning the motor and mechanism.

Thank you - I replaced a broken rear passenger window on my '17 prime and this tip finished the job. Much appreciated.
