I just came across this Toyota website that shows not only what the front, rear and interior facelifts look like (no more white panels in the cabin!), but also shows what exterior body kits one can get from Toyota in Japan. [HINT: open the webpage in the Google Chrome browser as it automatically translates the Japanese into English.]

Scroll down the page to "Customized Car" to see various TRD and Modellista versions as well as "aero" and "elegant" versions (right-click on each of the pictures as they move by and you get a separate webpage for each version). The TRD mods look interesting, the Modellista mods less so for me (a bit too "boy racer" for my taste). I have no idea whether we can get any of them over here or not, but at least you can see what Toyota's thinking these days.

The online editions of the sales brochures for the car, accessories, navigation, and accessible vehicles (all in Japanese, of course) have also been updated.

The most fundamental change, I think, is that the ZVW50 model (front-wheel drive with NiMH battery) seems to have been discontinued, at least in Japan, leaving only the ZVW51 (front-wheel drive with Li-ion battery) and ZVW55 (four-wheel drive with NiMH battery).

The new Owner’s Manual (PDF, also in Japanese) has been published, too, but I’ve only glanced at it.

    Mendel, you have more homework.

i like the updated center console w/o the wireless charging piece of $hlT and my much improved location of the seat heater switches.

Thanks for that Elektroingenieur. Really good stuff. So now our task is to get at least some of this stuff over here. I'm going to print some of it off and plunk it on the sales manager's desk at my dealer. I'm also going to send it to Toyota Canada (TC) and see what they have to say about it. Up until now, TC has shown not the slightest interest in promoting the Prius as anything more than a dull, fuel-saving daily driver. If there is even the tiniest ember of imagination hiding somewhere within TC's HQ in Toronto, perhaps it can be fanned into a little flame by these brochures, and maybe one fine day there will come the dawning realization at TC that making a great car look even better, handle better, be more comfortable, more convenient and—dare I say it!—more exciting, might actually help to $ell more of them!

From the Owner’s Manual linked in post #2, here are some of the other changes, all applying (at this writing) only to the new model for sale in Japan:
    • The Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) feature has been added, and there is now an RCTA indicator on the combination meter.
    • Intelligent Clearance Sonar (ICS) has been renamed to Parking Support Brake (PKSB).
    • A new driving support feature, Active Cornering Assist (ACA), has been introduced.
    • Clock setting has been moved to a separate screen in the multi-information display.
    • Seat ventilation and seat back pockets have been added for the front seats.
    • A “geometric roof film” has been added as an option for some colors.
    • The specification for 0W-20 engine oil has changed from SN 0W-20 to SN PLUS 0W-20. The API website describes SN PLUS.

Seat ventilation! What a great concept! I've got the faux leather "SofTex" seats in my 2013 Plug-in and they don't breathe worth a damn. I could never figure out why they didn't punch zillions of holes in the fabric.

As for Active Cornering Assist, I wonder what that's all about.
