"Never believe a previous owner when they say 'Oh, yeah, I replaced the cabin air filter!'" Finally got around to pulling the cabin filter out. OMG! Twenty pleats of packed brown stuff and a bushel of leaves fell out! New 40 pleat carbon infused filter put in and it's like a hurricane in my car now!!!!!

Ha! Mine was the same, but I never bothered asking if it was changed. Apparently it wasn't...nor was my engine air filter.

Might not have been the previous owner. Perhaps he got it done at the oil change place and they never changed it.

No, I kept telling them at the oil change place that the previous owner told me that he had done it so I didn't think I should bother. I bought one just for shits and giggles one day and finally decided to swap it out.

FYI: Never buy a cabin filter (or any filters) at Walmart, Autozone, Napa, etc. Always buy them at ebay or RockAuto.com if at possible (unless you need it right away...) I always buy my Camaro's cabin filter on ebay for like 4 dollars and the other day I was at Walmart I went through the filters aisle and noticed all filters were $15+ (or more if you wanted it with Febreeze) + tax, of course. I just think those prices are outrageous and if you're willing to wait 5 days you could save from $10 to $15 dollars.
