So the other day out of the blue the soc drops to purple and then I pulled over.
2 minutes later start up and away I go on gas, the soc climbs all seems ok just odd.
I decide to have dealer look at it and they report a timing chain issue and not worth fixing.
Also they say the 12v battery is in need of replacing.
Anyone seen a 07 with 150k have the timing chain cause trouble?
    thank you fellow EV'ers.

I find it difficult to believe your car would be driving even halfway decently if it truly had a TC problem..........maybe they think it's supposed to be Otto cycle instead of Atkinson

Did the engine stall and that’s why the battery drained?

not bad. might be worth repairing, depending on what is wrong.
look around for decent non dealer mechanics in your area.

A timing chain and state of charge of the hv battery are not connected;).

    I’d get a second opinion (y).
