Sometimes when the car haa more than half charge remaining then it fails to charge automatically when connected to power cable. Even retrying multiple times from mobile app also fails to start charging. Is there a way to start the charge from car buttons.

Could the connector need a bit more nudge into the car's socket? I've found that. The last nudge, then the green light under the connector lights, the controller goes clickclick-click, and it's charging.

I am very much positive that in my case, it is not the connector, because after 15 or 20 minutes of waiting it starts by itself. I just wanted to start it right away.

could the battery heater be bringing it up to temp before charging starts?

That's definitely a plausible logic, if this is how the battery heater works. Another possibility is that it is cooling down the battery as it was in use.

That would be my guess if you're plugging it in as soon as you get home, although I've never had that happen in the PiP.

I was just referring to the delay in charging immediately after a drive. Nothing active. But you make a good point. An active system would ned time to do its thing before commencing with the charge.
