    This is Toyota Prius 2010
    Mileage : 116,892

I bought this car 6 months ago.

Everythings worked perfectly till this week.
The noise kept increasing, so I decide to record it through my dashcam.

Problem : the noise randomly occur during speed 15-0MPH while I press brake gently.

    Welcome to Prius Chat (y).

    Some questions:

    • You said everything was working fine til this week. Is it the noise or are there dash lights or drive ability issues?
    • Have you checked your brakes recently?
    • Done any visual inspections ofnthenwheels and brake components?
    • Is only when you turn left, or is it also when you turn right?
Good luck and keep us posted (y).

I've heard that exact sound from other cars over the years, including a Pontiac station wagon. It always sounded like nuts and bolts rolling around loose inside the wheel cover. It wasn't that, but it was a very quick and inexpensive fix from the local gas station mechanic- something he had to tighten, maybe a brake plate? Hope that helps.

or a pebble? keep in mind, the slower you go, the more caliper/pad use, and the less regeneration braking.

all calipers at 6 mph and lower

No, there is no dash light or drive ability issues. Every thing works fine...

Have you checked your brakes recently?

No, not yet. I will bring to mechanic shop tomorrow to check it.

Done any visual inspections ofnthenwheels and brake components?

It just happen on last Friday night, so I didn't bring my car to any mechanic shop yet. but tomorrow(Monday). I will go to mechanic shop to check more result.

Is only when you turn left, or is it also when you turn right?

It happens randomly, when I turn either left or right ,the noise usually come out. However, the noise always come out with the speed is below 14 mph, and it become louder when the car reduces speed nearly stop.

    I went to mechanic.
Then he found out that this metal plate generate the sound because the nuts are lose, so he tight it back. This cost me only $20.

Thank you everybody for your suggestion. First, I thought that it might be brake regen problem.
