Interesting! thanks for the reply! Seems that Motor Medic can clearly be put into the "doesn't hurt" category.

As for our vehicles, I frequently use Techron in our direct injection vehicle ( our Hyundai Sonata ). In fact, the owners manual even recommends it once per oil change. Also use it less frequently in our 2013 Elantra GT.

I have accumulated enough Techron at reasonable prices now that I may try the 'Techron 6 tank challenge' in our 2010 Prius. (y)

No, that's not clear at all.
If it is solvent based, which I believe it IS......then it definitely can "hurt" as it will thin out your oil.......which in recent models is plenty thin enough already.
I do not think it is a good idea to run it in your oil all the time.
Added a few hundred miles before a scheduled oil change......different matter......and probably won't hurt.

Yes...certainly not full time. If I implied that I didn't mean to. In fact, most of the 'engine flush' products I have used in the past are only intended to be used for a few minutes before changing the oil. (y)

USE AS DIRECTED!! More is not necessarily better, as anyone using a laxative can attest.

    SamSpade2,
I think you misinterpret my method.
I have been adding the MMMF only during the oil change process, as a PRE-wash (just before actual oil change) & running the engine 5 minutes on idle (as prescribed) & even rinse with an additional 0.5 liters of new oil to flush out the residual MMMF, post engine idle
i WANT the old oil to thin and suspend the engine baddies and remove the accumulated carbon on engine surfaces.

While I think that is a waste of time, it probably won't hurt anything.
I think it needs to be perfectly clear to anyone new who is thinking about using it.
A really LOT of people don't read labels.
And some who do ignore it or don't understand.

How did your friend respond to the product? I still use it with all my oil changes.

OK, fine. Whatever makes you happy.
BUT....please try to remember to word your statement differently in the future.
You use the product BEFORE each of your oil changes, not WITH it.
    BIG difference.
