March of 2017, I broke my left hand and pinkie finger trying to put a transmission in the Crown Victoria I had at that time. The worst part was the slice in the back of my hand. It bled like there was no tomorrow.

I remember when I first encountered "special" transmission drain bolts: Hondas invariably have a 3/8" square recess. I phoned up a dealership service department, asked if they knew what special socket was needed. They let me down gently, explained they use just a 3/8" drive ratchet wrench.

I wish Toyota would use that system, a little easier: any regular wrench will do.

Yep same here. It bled like 5-7 min before my wife put turmeric powder which stopped it instantly. Even doctor was shocked about the bandage my wife put on. It was just the way any doctor would do bandage. She studies medicine so ya.

Well, that's not supposed to happen.
A Prius will bite when cornered.
    Everything will cut you!
You'll be back at it in no time.

Done with engine/trans bolts. Exhaust manifold done. Transmission oil done. That took 4 quarts but oNly had 3 quarts inside. Now just coolant, intake and oil change left. Putting in amsoil signature series 0w-20. I had good result on my 9th gen accord so might as well spend extra $10.

    @Ragingfit @cnc97

Do i have to hook up the multimeter to oil sending unit like the video shows or do i just plug everything back and turn it on and put it in maintenance mode to keep the engine cranking

I filled up the oil pump from the outside, then filled the oil filter adapter and installed it. I left the plugs out and put the thing into maintenance mode. It will crank for about 15 seconds before it errors out, provided your hybrid battery is strong enough. Do that twice, and install the plugs.

In theory, if the oil pan has not been off the donor engine, the oil pump should stay primed.

    Similar to any oil change?

Still, maybe do the oil pressure sender test anyways?

Some parts stores have for rent, a pressure oil primer. Think of a helium tank for filling balloons, with a removable cap for filling, and a hose with a threaded fitting on the end. Since “most” oil sending units have SAE pipe thread, they work on just about all vehicles.

Add oil to can, pressurize can with air, thread hose into sensor hole, and open valve. Pressure lubrication of the internals.

So there are ways to ensure it’s lubed. I just took it for granted mine would be fine.

    You do not have to.
I wanted to know that the oil pump was pumping.

LKQ does drain the oil but the pump and oil pan are not removed.

Pls does anyone here know y when for instance a transmission fluid is drained from a Toyotas transmission system(especially those from transmission systems without a dip gauge) on some 2007- current camries, highlanders, etc, the transmission system tends to shift erratically when selecting?

I ha e encountered issues like these before, when we removed any of the driveshafts from such vehicles, when the transmission fluid is hot, there's always a problem.

Sometimes, a new transmission system would have to be ordered.

From experience, we allowed the transmission system to properly cool down, before removing either driveshafts, or replacing the fluids.

So i took out the housing to check the leak. I filled it up with water on rhe inlet side and it started dripping and found the hairline cracks. I used jb weld so lets see. I didnt have access to plastic welder otherwise i would have used that.
