    I wouldn't hold my breath.

Ford is going all-in on the "6 is the new 8" formula for turning gas into adrenaline....and GM isn't too far behind, but Dodge has always been more of a blunt force instrument.
They're going to have to 'lectrify eventually, but they're not going to lean into it until market forces do what they do.

They're not even all that worried about CAFE.

The Ram already has a mild hybrid system on the V6 and optional on the V8 that gives a minor torque boost. That technically meets the headline.

I normally don't keep up on Chrysler product news but it seems like they are the real stragglers in the Hybrid market..

I need to go to the Chicago Auto Show next month and see what is new.

Wouldn't be surprised about this. For track/drag purposes I'm sure.

Maybe the straggler moniker seems appropriate because of the small amount of offerings, but then again, they have a small amount of vehicles even counting their parent company, Fiat. That gives them their electric car, which is definitely popular here in SoCal. On the hybrid side - we bought their minivan a few months back - sitting back in our garage again - finally

(oddly - they Market it as an atkinson hybrid, even though it has a thermally managed, liquid heated/cooled, 33EV plug-in mile range, before it drops back to a 32ish MPG blended CS mode ... & MAN - when those thermal fans kick on, weather from a hot drive or charging, it sounds like our Tesla sounded while charging in the Las Vegas summer on a supercharger)
It's back from rear end collision repair while on a multiple state drive. Even running the V6 substantially more than usual, you can see we still didn't pull down our overall 60's mpg average we had prior to our interstate trip (prior to our trip, odometer was mid 2,000's). Now at 3,800 miles after driving hundreds of miles state to state.

Mid-forties isn't too bad for a big pig like this. By the time we hit 5,000 miles (50/50 gas-EV), we should be back up around 60 MPG average again.
The Fiat Chrysler Jeep company has some real gas pigs, so between these offerings, they may very well meet their CAFE standards.

If the Challenger is getting a real hybrid configuration (not mild), it might actually be quite a setup. The no longer produced Porsche 918 spyder is the fastest 0-60mph gasser - & it's a plug-in hybrid. More & more high performance & racing cars are going hybrid. Not exactly a quick death, but better than nothing.
