They said it will not be completed today. I’m ok with that.

Anyone know if I can file some sort of claim to Toyota to try and get reimbursed even partially? Any help would be appreciated.

    Ugh...

How can the engineers live with this: it shouldn't be like open-heart surgery, to replace a mechanical part. A part that cost multiple grand dollars, because a little bit of it's plastic cracked...

Crap design on all levels. :cautious:

I got the car back today and they full detailed it inside and out. Fixed my AC issue, headlight flicker update, cold start rattle update, and the J0V safety recall.

They did an inspection and found my timing chain cover to be leaking. $1795.88. Since there are no drips in my garage, i'll let it slide. Either switch to a thicker oil, or just cover it up with hi temp sealant.

Take off the front passenger wheel, two or three of the push in fasteners on the plastic panel at back of the wheel well (just enough that you can flex the panel out of the way), and you can see how serious it is.

This might be the exception, a total scam. As you can see, clean as new:

Here's one of the repair being done, and as you can see very dirty, oil leaking:

    (different car, but similar)

Third gen Prius head gasket repair, involves timing chain reseal. This video very interesting:
