There is a lift kit from Rising Tuning currently offered on eBay that advertises 40mm or 1.6" of lift. It says it uses front strut spacers and rear coil spacers.

Anyone have any experience with this? I'm guessing this may be the kit referenced by the "Regenerates" team used at the Gambler.

Of course, there are always compromises in changing a vehicles geometry. I figure this option is a preferable starting point for me seeking more ground clearance compared with other options (changing tires, air bag, spring spacers, new vehicle, etc.).

I'm guessing you've got some potholed access roads?

Our previous Honda Civic was offered in South America with a 1/2" greater ground clearance. 1 1/2" seems a little extreme, especially since it's not Toyota sanctioned/tested. I'd be more inclined to look for another vehicle with more clearance. Some sort of CUV?

I'm not familiar with that specific kit, but I know the team you mentioned got parts from tema4x4 in Novosibirsk. They're very friendly, send them an email with your VIN and they'll give you a few options for lifting just about any Toyota.

While I haven't acted on it, I was impressed with what they came up with to fit an Aqua/Prius c.

Personally I wouldn't worry too much about a <2" lift. More than that and you can wind up with some really weird axle & suspension geometry and undesirable side-effects.

Thanks for the add'l info :) That appears to be the same as the eBay seller I've seen. I appreciate the extra vote of confidence!

As to the "why," I recently started a job that requires some driving out to clients residences in a rural area where what I may encounter as far as road conditions is uncertain. I also didn't like how much thick snow affected driving in the recent snowstorm that hit NC (incidentally, I did not find VSC to be the issue that some people have found it to be).

EDIT: Going back and reviewing the eBay postings, I see there is a similar listing from both "Rising Tuning" and "Tema4x4." Is one a distributor for the other, or is the Russian market for lifted Prii really that much more robust than the rest of the world? :: rubs chin ponderingly ::

The spacers have been ordered from Tema4x4. Payment on the website does not seem to work (for USA bankcards?). After emailing, they offered to send a PayPal invoice. I'll post back upon receipt...

They just got a reminder email from me that they need to send the PayPal invoice, or otherwise let me know how I can pay

Any update on your Prius lift kit purchase? I am looking into this route myself as well.

Starting to look highly suspect. In any case, they don't seem to want your business. Time to move on and find another vendor.

If you click the shipping link, they shipped more than a week ago. The issue looks like Russian Customs returned the shipment to them.

I just sent an email earlier. I'll pass along as I learn more
