    Hi all!
So recently my Prius has started to make extra noise when I accelerate. It sounds like a fast "putting" noise or the noise that cards make when you shuffle them. It's not exactly a ticking noise, more like a fast "farting" noise. (I know that is a weird description). I have had the noise before, but it went away. This time it hasn't. I only hear the noise when I accelerate. Should I be concerned about this noise? This noise makes me hesitant to accelerate at the speed that I need to
Any help would be great. Thanks!

How many miles on the vehicle, and where is the noise coming from?

it has 174,400 miles on it about. The sound seems like it is coming from the front of the vehicle. I am guessing it is related to the engine/acceleration because the only time I hear it is when I accelerate.
    Thanks!

Located a muffler shop that offers 'free inspections' and see if maybe they can find the problem, or create a new one for repair o_O

Should I be concerned about driving over 50 miles on it till I get it fixed? Like how much of an emergency do you think the problem is?
    Thanks for the help!

Low engine oil and engine is complaining? Go on you tube and search

    prius inspection

it will show you how to make the engine run continuous. Then with engine running continuously open the hood and listen around for bad noises. Probably a bad water pump belt or water pump or low on engine oil. Or you ran the engine out of engine oil once and damaged the motor and you have bad main bearing. See alot of those here. Ever run the engine oil so low the check engine light came on or the red triangle of death?

Can't say if that would be wise or not, as we don't know what the actual problem is beyond a noise coming from the front during acceleration.

As @edthefox5 mentioned above, have you checked the engine oil lately?
