Hello this is my first post on this site but I’ve been getting information on the Prius for months. I finally decided I’m going to get one and decided to go talk to some of the people at the dealership. They told me that if I ordered it now I could get a 2007 Prius in about 2 months. This doesn’t sound right and they didn’t seem to have much information on the 2007 Prius. So my question is has anyone else herd this or are they talking about the 2006 model? I’m going back on Tuesday to make up my mind on package and color options but before I do I’m double checking here that they have there facts right.

Welcome to PriusChat Chaos. (By the way, chaos here on PriusChat is normally reserved for Fred's House of Pancakes  )

    I remember it like it was yesterday ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

September 25, 2004 . . . we picked up our bundle of joy (a 2005 Salsa Red). It was from the first shipment which contained 2005s.

So yes, trust what the dealer says. “In about 2 months†is October.

Get a good deal 'cause you're gonna miss out on the $3150 tax credit - you'll get 1/2 of it if you purchase during the Oct-Dec quarter.

Yes, the 2007s are due to hit dealer lots right around the beginning of October.

I think just about every major car company does it this way... they start selling the next model year with several months left in the current year... it's rather confusing when you think about it, but i'm guessing their reasoning is they want to make sure they get all of the '06's off the lot while it's still actually '06, so by starting to push the '07's on, it'll give them plenty of time to sell off the remaining '06's

I am not sure about getting the credit if it is a 2007 Prius. The guidelines, as far as I know, currently list only the 2006 Prius, and the amount could change for the 2007 Prius.

And what would really be incredible is if somehow you got your 2007 Prius in September, 2006, when the $3150 tax credit is in effect for the 2006 Prius. Essentially the same car, but maybe no tax credit because its listed as a 2007.
