The weakness of traction battery supply is why VW designed flexibility for type of battery into their new BEV platform.

Tesla owns the Gigafactory 3 in China wholly. China doesn't even own 1%. First foreign company ever to have that deal.

19 cubic feet cargo area as opposed to the 36 my v has. I use that area at least once a week. Trash to the recycle place, golf clubs, grocery run.

I don’t have any numbers here, but have seen and test driven the Kona EV. Nice vehicle, but you will lose significant real cargo space compared to your Plug-in Prius if that is important to you.

The Niro has nice cargo space. Did not see the EV, but was told it was the same as the ICE I did look through.

Thanks! I guess it’s the niro I’m looking for.
But at 35-45k, one has to wonder about the added value of superchargers, unless hunday has to

The Kona is the smallest SUV of the line up; same size segment as the C-HR. The Prius is 16 inches longer than it.

The Prime has a little more cargo volume than the Kona; 19.8 to 19.2 cubic feet.

Hyundai lists the ICE and EV has having the same volume on their site.

Cost, bigger car needs bigger batteries, which then could run into supply limits quicker.
The Kona is roughly in the same size range as the Bolt, Leaf, and Niro EV.

I was only looking at the cargo volume with the Prius v comparison. Their manufacturer listed volume space is 19+cu.ft.(Kia's site posts the EPA and a SAE value. Those are for the seats up. The Niro is much roomier than the Kona. For the hybrid, the PHEV has a SAE passenger value between the hybrid and the Kona. The EV isn't up on Kia's site yet.

In terms of total volume, the list starting at smallest is(@cu.ft.); Bolt(111), Kona(113), and Leaf(116).
Looks like the Niro EV loses more space than the PHEV, but will be just under the Leaf with 115.
