If you need some assistance, you’re listed in the Sac area:).

    I’m just down 80 a bit in Fairfield(y).

    Will do.
Do you have a link for that version you told me to download? The ones I’ve been coming across have secret passwords or something preventing me from opening after download

    Are you free tomorrow?
I actually found the software and did everything but can't seem to find the darn "key" needed at the start of techstream start up. I remember it came with it when I first bought the mvci but I'm sure it was for a different version. I guess my only and last question now is how do I obtain the "key" to finalize the install after having downloaded everything?

I can stop by this week and you can show me how to add a 2nd key to a gen2 prius.

What happens if you lose all keys? Can you still start fresh and add a master key without going to dealer?

Yes, If you have Techstream, a replacement fob for that model car (used, new, or virginized), the drivers door open, and a way to calculate the passcode you don't need a dealer to program fobs to the car even if you've LOST ALL KEYS/FOBS.

You will then need someone to cut the emergency door key, but that's easy for many locksmiths to do cutting "by code" if you don't have an original left. You can get the door key code in about 30 seconds off the door lock cylinder using a T30 screwdriver (once the car is unlocked) or you may stay have the small metal code tag that came with the original keys.

Is it possible to drive out to you tomorrow to be shown how to program a used sks for a 2008 Prius? I have the seed and pass codes I just don’t know how it works with techstream

I’ve never done a Gen2 key with tech stream, so I’m not sure I know how either :(.

I’m also busy with some personal stuff tomorrow night (have some work stuff that will push my day longer), but if it still is an issue over the weekend, maybe we could see what shakes out:).

Good luck and keep us posted (y).

We can shoot for Saturday then. I just need access to that smart key feature to get the 96 character seed to complete the process. I’m hoping someone can send me a link to an older version as I’m currently at v10. I’m hoping but my goodness there’s a lot of false downloads out there

The Gen2 needs both the "Immobilizer" and the "Smart Key" programmed. The smart key is the portion that needs the seed.

I don't remember different version, but are you sure it is not there?

Sometimes you have to use the scroll bar on the right to scroll down and see more systems to choose from.

When I downloaded 10.029 I had a tutorial video show me how to do it but the code and process in the video wasn’t working for me. I noticed someone said if I change to Europe with the video it will work. I ended up getting it to add utility which was what I wanted but then I can’t access “smart key” on the menu as shown here

Is this a SKS (silver logo) car? Sounds like maybe it's a black logo car, in which case there is no smart key process. I'm not familiar with the procedures for registering a black logo fob. The plug-in-the-dash part is the same for both silver and black logo. The lock/unlock with the fob is different.
