My former car had a warning for low washer fluid, but plenty of times it was empty without any warning.
Nothing beats a regular visual check.

My mom had it in her Expedition, but she never paid attention to her dash- I would get in and say "what's that warning noise?" then see the indicator light on!

In reading this I realized that I have had my Prius for 17 months and 38,530 miles and never had to add fluid... the dealer must top it off LOL I use my washer's often!

BTW, what's up with that? I cannot stand having a dirty windshield! My mom and sister seem to never clean theirs....

    :D :D Gotta laugh...

Seems some folks (inclusive of Prius drivers) just MUST find something about which to complain. How about "Geez, my seats aren't heated." -or- "Why didn't Toyota put a better HORN on the Prius?" -or- "It's just terrible they didn't include body side mouldings!" -or- "Toyota doesn't even HEAT the washer fluid."

I think these folks are the "Glass is half empty" crowd. The more little complex goodies you include, the more there is to go wrong.

Errr.. a low washer fluid warning is decidedly low-tech. Just a buoy inside the fluid tank and a sensor inside the buoy to determine the fluid level.

No warning?! I'll miss that - my last 2 cars had that feature...

I had a warning for washer fluid in my old car but it never mattered much. I just fill when I check other fluids and it doesn't run out generally in between. If anything the Prius shape keeps the windows cleaner and I use the washer less often.

But I do miss my old cars low oil warning and oil pressure gauge too!

I'd also like to have a low fuel warning too, that read out exactly in miles left to go at the then current average mpg.
