What book are you referring to? When I did my 2001, I followed the steps in the repair manual, which involved removing the left headlight for easier access, but didn't disturb the inverter at all.

There isn't anything special you need to bleed the air from the system. You can buy a few feet of clear tubing at any hardware store. I wrote a post about the Gen 1 process a few years ago. I did find a little non-hardening sealer (I used the blue Hylomar) made the job go a bit more smoothly.

It was in the repair manual I bought from the parts store. It actually said you needed to take the inverter out to remove the headlight. Like I said I am no mechanic just a 61 year old Grandmother. But with that book I did manage to get a lot of the things that went wrong fixed by myself. I could not get anyone other than the dealership to even talk about working on it & all they wanted to do was change the whole systems -- oh but "We won't guarantee that that will fix it". I just bought the book & started reading all the posts I could find on what was going on. Up until it just quit on me in my daughters yard I was doing pretty good! Thanks for the advise I am going to check out that fuse if I can find it & then go from there!
