it's really a rather big miss by toyota. everything honda has android and apple car play. Not sure why toyota is so far behind on this technology.

Back in 69 a roommate had a couple of tapes, that album and Bob Dylan's greatest hits. Oh wait: iron butterfly in-a-gadda-da-vida too. Eclectic mix...

So as noted above the non-AWD XLE has about 3 cubic feet more cargo space than models with spares or AWD.

Anyone know if that extra space if from having the hatchback floor a little lower or if the floor height is the same in all non-Prime models and that extra space is just under-the-floor space where the spare (or AWD motor) would have been?

The under-floor tray was nixed (sadly) on 4th gen, and the changes in hatch volume are (as far as I know) due to the floor level going up or down.

Any thoughts on how I decode my UK MY2019 VIN ? it starts JTDKB3FU is that 2WD Ni-Mh ? I'd hoped they would have switched over to the Li-ion for the facelift.

Yes, the Japanese market 2019 models have optional ventilated seats.

It's complete BS that the 11.6 inch display is available only with the Limited, the most expensive of the six 2019 Prius versions. It starts at $32,200.

Time for @Mendel Leisk to show his display. Some of us buy a car for driving not entertainment.

Just a generic pic, but like this:

Still too many anonymous buttons, and little LCD displays, for me. A base level Honda Fit is more to my liking: you can adjust all the H/V controls by feel.

I definitely prefer the smaller panel that's installed in my Two-Eco. Not only do I find it more attractive than the, to-me-garish, large display, but frankly, I just don't need any added distraction. I'm already ADD enough as it is, and the small panel offers all the functionality I want and need.

One main thing I dislike, and think is a safety hazard, is the insistence of popping up every little bit of information on the MID, sometimes causing severe driver distraction. Most of those popups, especially for DRCC cannot be disabled and would be better displayed with a smaller light or icon. Driving 150 miles home in the dark riht after I got the car, it was extremely distracting, especially while trying to keeo an eye on the Hybrid Indicator.
Initially, a driver psychologically thinks that a full screen popup must contain very critical information, and some do (like the STOP on a red background). Unfortunately most of the messages are informational.

I think that’s a ZVW50, but my references may be out of date. The best way to tell is to look at the certification label on the B pillar inside the left front door. It should have the complete model code, starting with ZVW50 (Ni-MH) or ZVW51 (Li-ion).

Some more info on the AWD posted at Cleanmpg.
2019 Prius Gaining Traction Just Weeks From Today | Page 3 | CleanMPG

Wayne Gerdes reported no cargo space loss from the AWD at the above link. From the numbers you posted, and info on the Toyota site, I'd say the loss cargo space for the AWD trims is because they get a spare tire. The other trims with the extra space don't have a spare.

The larger wheels add weight at the worse possible spot for efficiency. The official posted EPA number for the non-Eco is based on the results for the LE. The XLE loses the spare in order to counter the weight for adding the larger wheels and other features. In addition to staying with the smaller wheels, the XLE AWD-e may not have options available on the XLE, because of weight from the spare tire and rear motor.

He mistakenly says the rear motor contributes to regen. Our understanding is that it doesn't.

I sat in a 2019, non awd model. It was the first time I’ve been in a Gen 4 model. I was disappointed in the rear seat capacity and space. My wife’s Gen 3 (2013) Persona has much more spacious backseat for our two kids. I feel like they would be quite squished in backseat in the 2019 model. Unfortunate.
I’ll be looking elsewhere when my crv lease is done, I guess.

Unrelated to prius chat, but I will look at the previous Gen Avalon hybrid (2016-2018) but haven’t found one.

Totally other end of spectrum, may consider a grand Cherokee or 4runner lease. My commute is 5 miles round trip. I work from home 1-2 days a week too. Sorry if this is off topic!

If my commute was 5 miles round trip I'd be walking.
