anyone here buy from DARCARS(Frederick MD) or Fitzmall(Gaithersburg, MD)?

I have just gotten on the list with both, but not sure which one is more reliable. Both offer at MSRP, but I'm more concerned about getting it sooner than 6 months.

will also be checking out the Koons in VA, since some people here got in a month or so....

    any other suggestions?

I dealt with Fitzgerald Toyota in Gaithersburg and have nothing but good things to say about the experience with them to this day. I was told upfront that my car would cost MSRP, which it did, and I got the exact car that I ordered with no compromises! If you want more specific info, PM me. Randy

I'd look somewhere else unless you are willing to wait 6 months or be very flexible on color and option package.

Do you have any recommendations for a place in Balt/DC area?

I tried Koons Tyson last night, but they're selling everything 4K over MSRP.

There are always cars available for someone who doesn't want to wait. Just be prepared to pay a hefty premium to the dealer who can get you the car bypassing the waiting list.

You might want to try some of the West Va. dealerships. There have been threads from folks who managed to get on very short lists in West Va and also get a car as MSRP!

I got a call from Koons Tysons Toyota saying that they have a couple Prius in (I had submitted an Internet query to local dealers). I'm trying to hold off on getting one until I absolutely cannot live without a car (a point I haven't reached yet). Maybe you could try giving them a call.

I got mine from Koons Tysons in just 1 month (white #7). As far as I know, the only ones being sold at a premium are either used rentals or cancelled-order cars in-stock and available for immediate delivery. Mine was ordered and delivered at straight MSRP (salesman was Art Dias - good guy). The only other dealer out of six I had a deposit with who was (supposedly) close to competing time-wise was Alexandria Toyota on Jeff Davis Hwy. When I cancelled my deposit at Fitz in Gaithersburg after Koons won the race, they said my car wouldn't have arrived until at least the end of the year anyway. (I don't know about Darcars; I have a long-standing prejudice against dealing with them and didn't even check.) Get to Koons if you can - I think they're probably the best bet around here, and that might include WV (I called around there quite a bit and was mostly disappointed vs. the hype)...
