    I'm a newby to this forum, so apologies in advance if this matter has been dealt with. I am thinking of buying a hybrid Prius. However, I go away from home often, for months at a time so the car won't be driven. Is that going to cause problems for the battery?

    welcome!
    depends on where you keep it in palm springs. they don't appreciate being left in the hot sun, or even an overheated garage.
    other than that, no problem, but you might need a battery maintainer for the 12 volt.

    I'm in Palm Springs right now, but live in London UK, which is where the Prius will be. We, quite sensibly, avoid the winter by coming out to the desert. So what we're looking at is the Prius sitting in London for 3 months doing nothing. My Touareg and its electrics doesn't like that. What I'm trying to ascertain is how much a Prius would. Thanks

    Perhaps @GreenJuice or one of our other London users could chime in. I am assuming you are referring to London England not London Ontario Canada or some other London.

    everything will be fine except the 12 volt battery. is that what you mean by 'the electrics'?

    Normally, if car failed, could check error codes, which may given you an ideas what is the problem there.
