PHV-45K service, what should be done?

You might consider setting the pressure on all tires and then resetting the TPMS system as described in the Owners manual. Page 483 in owners manual for 2015 PIP. A button under steering wheel initializes pressure after you set pressure in tires.

 

Since we no longer have full service gas stations it's up to the owner to check oil level and tire pressure. Weekly is a good practice.

The TPMS light is probably coming and going because the tire pressure fluctuates with temperature and at least one tire is just low enough to be at the threshold. Which is the whole purpose of the TPMS. Check your tires right now and pump up any that are below the recommendation on the label in the driver' door opening. Most of us actually keep ours well above that. Up around 40 psi is quite common. I wouldn't go any higher. I might add, check that low tire for screws and nails.

 

Didn't know you were using nitrogen. That does complicate things a bit.

 

good time to think about tranny fluid. your car is just broken in, nothing beyond filters and oil until at least 100k.
keep a weather eye on your 12v.

 

Do you have the Warranty and Maintenance Booklet?



Basically, rotate the wheels and visually check the brakes.

 

I've been getting all our tires at Costco, nitrogen fill, but just top them up with regular air. The first top up usually happens within hours of purchase; I like to have them a little higher. I use to swing by the gas station for air, now I just use a bicycle pump, one of those floor-standing models.

If the TPMS light is going off the obvious first step is to check your tire pressures. If that's done and the light's still going on. In that case maybe a dying battery. The easiest thing to do is ignore it, at least till you're getting tire replacement.

A few years back we had the TPMS light go on. I pulled into a gas station and raised all pressures 3~4 pounds, and the light went out. Later I dropped the pressures back to my usual, and the light stayed off. So maybe there can be communication errors.

Yeah, Toyota Tech Info too, has them all. Our paper manuals are all ensconced in the glove box, but pdf is what I usually go to. Ditto for our kid's cars.

My one bug bear: the manufacturers REALLY should release the Repair Manuals (aka Shop Manuals), stop bogarting them behind a paywall. If one does it, it would be a real tug for the DIY crew...

Honda at least shows stuff like the oil change in their Owner's Manuals, commendable.

 

if you're only keeping it 2-3 more years, and under 100k, i wouldn't bother with tranny fluid, unless you want to do it for future owners. it should be around $100.

 

Having done 3 transaxle fluid changes, the first drain, at the one year mark and around 15K kms, was by far the darkest.
