message: key detected in vehicle

    my wife travels with me often. she has her key in her purse for my car. we have had no problem in 4 years. Today the yellow triangle showed up and the message (
    message: key detected in vehicle) appeared. my 2010 operated as usual and the message disappeared then came back several times.

    check the voltage of the fob batteries and 12v.

    It has not repeated so far. If it does I will check batteries. I'm afraid to ,Last time I replaced the key fob batt. it stopped working and cost me 200$.
    I'm running a test on the 12 volt. Its original and I test it every 6 mo. and it shows excellent health.:)

    Check to see if your rear hatch is closed all the way. I had this issue for a day. Once I opened and shut the hatch it went away.

    It maybe a sensor loose back there as well.
