    Hello,

    I have a 2004 Prius.
The SES is not working at all or sometimes it will work but the car will sound this high pitch noise and the VSC,ABS,Brake lights are on.
I don't really know why this is happening.
Any ideas? Can I program this myself or is dealer required to have a look at this? Maybe the remote battery's gone but it still unlocks the door when I push the unlock button on the remote.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

1)Check to make sure the button to turn the sks off under the steering wheel didn't get turned to the 'off' position.

2)Change the battery...the remote/push button function seems to last a day or two after the sks function stops working.

That's a good idea. That way you could still get into car and put fob in place, lock etc while managing to get a new battery.

Not sure it's something that was planned, just seems that the energy needed for the button signal is less than that for the SKS.

When mine died I got 2 remote button uses before that quit too.

I'm also having intermittent SES problems on my '06 with <5K miles. At times, the entry system fails when I approach with the fob in my purse, and also the car occasionally fails to start, giving me a Smart Start error icon (key with an exclamation point through it). I thought perhaps my cell phone was causing interference, but this has happened a few times when I didn't even have the cell in the car with me. A vigorous jostle of the keys will generally set things straight, and hitting the unlock key on the fob always unlocks the door. I see the failure about 20% of the time.

I'll bring it up to the dealer next time I'm in, but I know how things can go with intermittent problems.

When I keep my cell phone in the same pocket with my fob I usually get a failure. My cell phone always has bluetooth on and when it's in my pocket right up against the fob I can get a failure about 80% of the time. If I shift things in the pocket so that the cell phone isn't covering up the fob than sometimes that helps. However, usually I just keep the fob in a different pocket than the cell phone and all is OK.
