I've been using Seafoam the past year. What I notice is that the engine sounds really quieter and runs smoother. Mainly because Seafoam claims that their additive lubricates the pistons. I've also read some Amazon reviews that some oil burning is improved with it. But may be for certain conditions.

So here is an idea for trying. Try Seafoam. 1. It add lubricants to your fuel. So even if your oil runs low, the lubricant is still there to keep the heat down and save the engine a bit from wear. 2. You might get less oil burning as some Amazon users claim. 3. You might get better mpg. I seem to be getting good mpg. Also my tire pressure is around 40psi.

I don't get the same noticeable results with Techron. But Techron is a different chemical makeup not meant for lubing.

    Just food for thought.

a quart per 433 miles is well beyond toyota's acceptable level. try calling customer service and ask if they would be willing to help with a good will warranty

Just the warranty for the for the work they did. Since it was a chain, the Kwik Kar at home fixed the damage done by the Kwik Kar near college. I don't have any special warranty for the vehicle.

I've only taken it to Kwik Kar. We've been with the local one ever since it opened and we trust them with all our cars. They do a great job. But obviously that's not the case for every store in the chain.

I’ve got the circuit cleanse down to a repeatable routine and done in 6 hours:).

Did 2 in 8 hours the last time;).

And the cooler cleanse takes 15 minutes, including setup(y).

I wanted to post an update. As @PriusV17 advised me, I tried the Seafoam. It did a great job on my Prius, I was burning an estimated 1 quart every 4 or 5 hundred miles, adding Seafoam lowered it to burning 1 quart every 600 miles exact. Still way worse than I'd like but better than before. I'll ask my mechanic for any advice next when I take it in soon.

If you used Seafoam on the engine, you cleaned the deposits on the combustion side of the piston rings. But you should also try to clean the oil feed side of the piston rings. There are a couple of older threads on this. The fix at this point is cheap and simple. Use Motor Flush on an oil change. It only adds a few minutes work to the job and it did wonders for both my wife's car and my son's car.
