Hey guys, kinda new around here. Yesterday a couple of the check engine lights came on. Nothing seemed too out of the ordinary though. I stopped at autozone so the could plug into it sand scan but, pulled up no codes. I thought maybe my gas cap was loose or something of that sort and it would work itself out. Today while driving home I was getting really high revs without stepping on the gas. When I did step on the gas it would barely go. And the fan in the vent on the side of the back seat was blowing. Where should I start? Is it hopeless?

Thank you for your help. I was browsing a bit. Coolant pump? Something worse?

    Welcome to PriusChat!!

Sounds like their OBD2 scanner wasn't hybrid compatible. Try scanning at another location or at another chain store, as each retailer may carry a different scanner and you could get lucky. Otherwise you can buy a cheap OBD2 blue tooth adapter online and use it with your cell phone. For a little more you can get a mini-vci cable for use with a laptop and a copy of techstream for scanning the codes.

From your description it sounds like your HV battery is giving up the ghost. How many miles do you currently have on this vehicle?

Don't rush into a poor replacement decision just yet, once you have the codes post them here for advice.

If you've never cleaned the HV battery fan, now would be a good time and its fairly easy to do.

It's at 211k right now. Nothing major has happened to it before. My father in law was the previous owner and said it never had any major problems
