2020 Prius V ?

    I am ready to purchase a new car and being a 3x Prius owner and still living my 2013 V five , I am looking for something comparable but come up empty.

    Does anyone know if Toyota will be returning the V to the US market for 2020? I hope they do.

    Take a look at the new rav4 hybrid. Same money, mpg, lots of extras. Especially a good value in the base LE rav4 hybrid version. Drove one last week and was impressed.

    Thank you.

    The Rav 4 Limited which has the options I’d want , as in my V Five, starts at $35,000, even the one step lower from starts at $33,000. Also, mpg is 34/31. I’m getting 40. And I just like the V.

    Just hang in there with your current 2013 Prius v, or trade up to a low-miles later year? How many miles on your current one?

    45,000 miles. Like new. Just would like the newer safety features.

    AB273822-5ABA-4061-B9E1-8F4A8AD6932D.jpeg The rav4 hybrid I drove last week had a combined 40 mpg sticker and it averaged 60 on my test drive. The LE Hybrid has all the safety features. It does not have the fake leather, sunroof, jbl or nav. Performance features are the same. It has the same list price as my seven year ago Prius v with all the new second generation safety tech. Some features are different such as how the rear view camera works and how cross traffic functions but all are way better than the best v you can find. Rides better, more power, awd, and best in class safety. Hard to beat in 2019. Plus they are offering $1000 off from Toyota and the dealers have room to negotiate especially in a low gas price environment (which can and has changed almost overnight). These factors are the reasons that Toyota quit selling the v in the US back in 2017.

    My last car got 18 miles per gallon. I bought the Prius v in 2012 and now I get 35 miles per gallon, which is much better. I can't imagine wanting another car with a gasoline engine. When I buy my next car in hopefully 2023/24 I will definitely look for an all electric car. If we want electrics cars, we need to buy electric cars. I also believe in buying as few cars as possible. If I make it to 2023 with my current car, I will have gone 30 years with 3 cars. Am I cheap or am I thrifty...

    Be sure you are looking at the hybrid, the MPGs you quote are for the non-hybrid. I bet that also effects trim and prices.

    The Rav 4 is a new generation this year, so I bet not all government agencies are up to speed yet.
