We live at the top of a very steep and long hill that kills my hypermiling scores. Any suggestions to get the best possible fuel efficiency? I've been going up it at about 25mph's but I wonder if applying more accelerator and spending less time driving up the hill is more efficient?

I would guess that the slowest you can drive with the ICE running would be the most economic. Or maybe your drive down will fill the battery again, then I'd try to get the battery down to its lowest level.

Park at the bottom of the hill and walk up :)

Build up as much speed as you dare before starting the hill, then keep a dead foot on the pedal, allowing the car to decelerate all the way to the top of the hill. That's how it's done.

Problem is there's a stop sign at the base of the hill so I'm starting the climb at a dead stop.

I don't believe that there is much you can do on the uphill, other than to avoid the hill entirely. :)

The downhill side is where most people make or break their results. And steep ones are built to break the numbers.
