What problem specifically? Lower mpg? Or?

You are saying that's cumulative, Decline of 0.2 + 0.2, etc? If so, keep us informed on where it levels out.

I am supposed to get the recall, am waiting until my next oil change. I assume that if we don't get it and then have an inverter failure that it won't be covered, so it's a bind.

About 0.2 mpg decline per trip...so far. These are 5 mile round trips, in city, per day. As of yet it’s not been on the highway.
If the inverter should fail and provided you haven’t exceeded the parameters, it is still covered under the warranty.

Mostly highway miles, have not observed any MPG decline since the SW upgrade a few weeks ago. MPG seems consistent.:)

That's pretty fine tuning, could be wind, temps.

I’ll give you that but it is in a steady decline. We'll see where it stabilizes. It’s only been a week of repeat driving conditions.

The dealership let some air out of my tires during the software update. I had slightly lower mpg due to that.

When I had the recall performed on our 2010 awhile back, I declined the multipoint inspection;).

When the service writer heard this, he was taken aback. I said I have the tire pressure gauge in the glove box and the first thing I will check is the tire pressures. If I find them lower than what they came in at, I will not leave until they are returned to 40 in the front and 38 in the back:).

Let’s just say everything was left be(y).

Yeah, I had the recall performed awhile ago, but it's hard to track the difference with my wife driving the car. She must have a heavy foot because she usually kills my mileage when she uses my car. :(

I finally dragged azz to the dealership a week ago. I noticed a huge dip in MPGs immediately upon receipt of my Prii. I watched the numbers like a hawk for the entire week! I was ready to drive thru the front window of Toyota's dealership claiming a faulty update. Fortunately for Toyota, my numbers have since climbed back up to normal and they won't be receiving a free drive-thru window.

I’m not sure about the Prius ECM adaptive learning abilities but I think the upturn in the mileage reading might be human inspired. My tendency, while driving is keeping a close eye on the MPG graphic display and adjust accordingly. I guess you could call it a intuitive, Prius drivers, learning curve.

I started this thread, so I'll update with the my current status. My mileage is back to normal, It took a couple tank fulls to get there with the winter gas in the Mid-Atlantic. Now that the switch to summer gas has been made, Im getting 48-49MPG(real not by the display).

Toyota should just make it a policy to warn people about these affects.

Just took my 2010 in for software recall and after fill up am seeing at least 5mpg drop. A couple of weeks ago during a warm spell in Denver was getting 48/49. Now seeing 40. Not sure what exact mileage will be but after 160k I know what it delivers. Just drove to store and it dropped as low as 38mpg. Will post more after a few more days of my normal driving where I always get 47+. Going back to dealer soon.

I am now sitting at the dealership waiting area enjoying a rare day off, free coffee, and WiFi, while my Prius is performing the software update. Sitting across from me on the showroom floor is a CPO 2018 Prime calling my name . Nope, I ain’t looking into another car payment with my Prius just paid off last month but sure it’s tempting. I’m sure @Raytheeagle is enjoying the Prime and can tell me many good stories about it :D:D:D but I park on the street so I can’t really benefit from the plug-in feature anyways.(n)

Before I get too far off track I just want to say I will keep an eye on the MPG after the update/recall, and will report back if the gas mileage is out of wack. ;) Hopefully won’t need to give the dealership a “drive through treatment” mentioned by @Greenteapri :ROFLMAO:
