    I'm kinda bummed already...I don't think my current part # matches. :( I'm trying to not take it out of the engine as i don't want to cause unnecessary new problems (ie, gasket leak etc). Will try to get a closer look at it over weekend and will get back to you Max. Thanks anyway for offering us a shot at a free one!

    Thank you for the kind offer! Unfortunately I'll have to decline- it's not so much the cost of the valve, but the cost (in time and material) to conduct a credible and reproducible test of the kind of effects being claimed here. It would be a disservice to the readers to do any less, and a disservice to you if you had to wait for me to have that kind of time to spend (and nothing more plausible to spend it on).

    Hi Suirp,

    The serial number is on the outside. Difficult to take a photo while in the engine. And you will need to do it to put the new part in later so have a little practice. Orv you can have a mechanic put it in for half an hour labor for something 5 min. I'm trying to help to save money.
    It needs a little wiggle to get out, it was not easy in the beginning but with the engine slightly warm it was easier. Give it a twist to lose up the o-ring then grab on to it and push away against the engine to pull it out. Don't try to bull without support not a lot of power that way especial with not much to hold on to. Don't need to worry about oil leak doing this. The O-ring is snug.

    Thank you for the encouragement, like I said no review or test needed unless you want to. I'm not giving this away in exchange for anything just that I have a extra one and thought to give it away here since we have so much discussion.
    I know it works and that's enjoy enough for me now.
    One of the member offered to do all those tests but like I said random draw, you don't need to do anything if you don't want to. You can even wait until your warrenty expires to enjoy it if you win.

    Don't worry about the feed back, I am not asking for anything in return. Really you can keep it until your warrenty expires. I'm giving away this one for my birthday. We have mechanical shops willing to do the tests aready to prove the performance.

    Hi Max. So, i tried to get the electrical plug off but couldnt, so i took this pic using a mirror in one hand, flashlight in mouth, and camera in other hand. Lol. The number on the outside of mine is 321040 538022 HR233. It's not an exact match. The # you gave us is 321040 538023 NP204. Not sure if the new solenoid would work in my car now based on this. Your thoughts?

    I hope from this run and the photo evidence to prove, I sincerely hope you will start to keep an open mind about the Red bullet.
    I took the same highway going and coming back, so unless magically Taiwan tilts from top to bottom and vise versa assisting me on this good documented run.
    The numbers add up perfectly. I couldn't make it more better even if I was to cook it up.
    Just the kilometers alone vs the EV used is astounding. I spend a lot of time siting in the car with my foot on the break fiddling with my oversized center console gps takes a little getting use to.
    At this point there is only one eligible person for the draw! Hurry guys!
    Suirp you are so close, just need to get that part out buddy and thumbs up to you for sticking with the thread. May i suggest a mechanic shop to take it off for a quick snap shot and if you get the part say you will pay him to install it because at the point you've tried to pluck the carrot already without luck.

    Monday is already here, and now I want to go outside with a flashlight (2400 hrs atm) and pop the bonnet for a quick look see.

    Max...all done! Put me in the drawing. Below are the picts of my vvti out of engine. Used a mini c-clamp to get the lock down on that stubborn electrical connection while sliding it off. Applied some permaflex high temp rtv silicone gasket maker around the base of the solenoid to ensure no leaking occurs after re-install (seen in the pic with orange ring). Thanks!

    The connector is a pain in the arse to disconnect. I didn't disconnect mine to remove the solenoid. Took a little more effort to wiggle it out from that tight space with the dip stick blocking.

    Just got back from ECU tuner sadly NHP10 is not supported yet probably due to the lack of interest in modifying the ECU.

    I didn't use any RTV gasket to refit the solenoid as it was pretty snug. Is your area road salted? Seems to be a fair bit of dust and rust.

    Hi Roy. Yeah...that disconnect can be an issue. If you ever need to remove it...use a small C-Clamp like the pic below. I put the screw side right on the release lever on the connector and VERY SLOWLY turned the screw down till i felt a little resistance, and then tried to slide connector off. First time it didn't work, then i tightened the screw down again, gently pulled...and the connector slid off easily. Yeah...we get salt here in the winter pretty heavily so i'm sure some of that minor rust around my vvt-i is from that. I should have cleaned the port when it was opened but didn't think of it. I tried not to touch anything to the solenoid when taking it out and putting it back in, so as not to bring any contaminants into the engine. The rtv gasket was just preventive measures. The solenoid snapped back into place with good pressure anyway. I believe there's a vvt-i filter under the solenoid behind a bolt. I didn't attempt to take that out yet. Im just thankful i got the solenoid out for now. lol.
