The terrorists must be rolling on the ground laughing at our inept flailing.

Truth be told we're our own worst enemy. We're completely devastating our economy, eviscerating our liberties, and are headed for financial and moral bankruptcy. The truth is terrorism is here to stay, it's human nature, and we need to accept it as a risk of life. Life is full of risk, much of if is far greater than terrorism. We need to stop wasting our borrowed wealth on fruitless crusades and direct it towards strengthening the U.S.

Like the Romans through to the Kings of Spain, history will view U.S. as just another failed empire that lost it's direction and squandered it's wealth on useless distractions.

I know and did you notice that he didn't jump on efusco's misspelling of asinine? I really love it when the "English Nazi's" jump on you instead of the topic being offered. [attachmentid=4712] I love that little guy!

WhOOO hOO!! Drangonfly has had an epiphany! That's ok fly recognizing that you have a problem is half the battle. Just becasue someone has a different point of view doesn't mean you can't have a meaningful point of contact or discussion. Unless of course you cut it off once you realize that the other party doesn't see eye to eye with you. Good job you get one [attachmentid=4733]"ATTA BOY"[attachmentid=4733] for recognizing your shortcoming and another if you actually do something about it!

 Phu leez, you're gonna make me cry here. You're the one who didn't want diatribes and here you've gone and hijacked your own ascinine post with whining!
Show me one place, one time, in the 2.5+ years I've been a moderator here that I've tried to 'censor' any legitimate discussion. Go ahead, the search engine works fine.

This is a stupid post. On one hand you want simple answers to a complex question and on the other your 'poll' is designed to elicit only answers that agree with your point of view and simultaneously acts as a slam to anyone who disagrees with you.

IMO, as a moderator, that's just short of a personal attack on anyone that doesn't agree with you. You put forth no factual point, you provide no means of reasoned discussion. And now you're crying to your mommy that someone called you out on it.

I can as a member or a moderator suggest to the forum as a whole that they not reply to other flamers...and this is a flame post...meets all the criteria and that's what you wanted it to be.

So don't go expecting me to lose any sleep over calling this idiotic post exactly what it is. And, FWIW, I'd do the same from our idiotic ultra-liberal members too. Extremists are extremists...you're exactly the same, you're just so self-rightous you can't see it.

I don't think there's anything I could say that would make Wildkow understand that he just described himself perfectly. Sigh... but that's why we're all suckers, because we think we can have a reasonable discussion with him and that he'll listen and try to understand.

Time to make use of the board's "ignore user" feature, and give Wildkow a reason to think that there's some type of liberal bias making me want to ignore him. This thread is not only a textbook example of a flame, but I'm realizing Wildkow is the textbook example of a troll.

And as for "censorship" or any such BS, this is a privately run site, not a public utility, and until you or I or Uncle Sam starts paying for it, the mods can do what they damn well please. If you don't like it, don't stick around.

Puh-leeze if you don’t want the “Spelling Nazi’s†to jump your case try this spelling "asinine".

Your right the search engine works fine. Here is one, http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=16053&hl= it is a legitimate discussion that got out of hand was censored (blocked) and is still censored to this day. You as an admin/mod could have removed the offending remarks/posts as you have done in other far worse posts such as the one about Ann Coulter, which contained sexually violent remarks but for whatever reason have chosen not to with this topic which means it is still not open for further discussion. That is censorship pure and simple if you don't believe so please let us all know what your criteria is.

Once again when an administrator of a forum makes comments of the type you have, it inevitably carries more weight than from the average poster. In addition to that comment your political persuasion comes from the left and therefore bears down even more. So when you call someone from the opposite political persuasion (I'm actually and independent) else’s post asinine or stupid it discourages and unfettered discussion and others from joining in. If you can’t see that then maybe you shouldn’t be a moderator although I don’t know who else would want that thankless and tough job. Except prehaps for the big bucks you get. Sarcasm, BTW, and I respect and am thankful that you do it. I just don’t like this instance of your work.

You’re making an assumption here when you know little about my intent. Furthermore you are stating it as fact. I didn’t call for simple answers any answer will do but I don’t see a whole lot being offered and the ones that have been offered are simple and quite thought provoking (hobbits, glenhead and alric) for instance. Furthermore, I am not that naive to think I can get an answer from anyone on this board that only agrees with my POV, in fact the whole point of this topic is to solicit other POV's. If you feel slammed becuase my POV is different than yours or someone else's then perhaps this caricature would be a better avatar for you. [attachmentid=4737]
I don't know if you have ever met TonyPSchaefer, you live in MO and he lives in IL, but you seem to be able to tell when he makes sarcastic remarks. At least that is what you posted some time today. My poll is positively dripping with sarcasm and yet you and at least one other here completely miss it, for whatever reason. I can only assume that you are familiar with my position on the political spectrum and don't like the fact that I am bringing up a point of some controversy that reflects badly on your party/position of choice. Not to mention the fact that it makes the constant critics look a bit disingenuous when they can’t articulate a reasoned method to address the terrorist threat. Others on this board have seen what I am saying and posted some good replies. Is it so difficult to follow suit rather than trying to heap scorn on a posters position in an effort to limit responses to a subject you may find not compatiable with your own? When has it become a policy on PC for the admin’s/mod’s to make derogratory or belittling personal comments about someone’s post that is not up to their personal tastes or standards? If you must do so then make up another username and do it anonymously.

Since when does a person’s topic/post on PC have to pass the scrutiny of a moderator’s opinion when it does not violate the rules of the board? I thought that was the beauty and function of FHOP? Are personal attacks forbidden on FHOP? If so you have a lot of editing to do tonight unless you want to appear biased toward a certain POV which IMO and many others is poor form for a moderator on any board. You have seen my record as far as “Personal Attacks†when unjustified I have apologized (several occasions if my memory serves me) I’m not a bit sorry you don’t like my “in kind†replies to personal attacks against me. They are not a whole lot different than yours.

No factual point? That is rich! Read the title of the post one more time. I am asking for a poster’s solution for terrorism could it get any plainer or to the point than that? Me thinks you protest too much or see the weakness of your position and are grasping at straws now to justify/spin your case. I can’t provide for or affect your or anyone else’s reasoned discussion on this board. I don't think I should try and I don't think you should try until that post has actually been posted. Reasoned discussioon is up to you or the person replying. Suffice to say that I ask a question you respond however you want, ahh the beauty of FHOP a bit less functional now. Why do you think a reasoned discussion can't be had with the question "What is your solution to terrorism" I am baffled by this asseration of yours.

I am not crying to my mommy she has passed on. But your sarcasm is not missed here and is taken better than mine was apparently.

Please list the criteria as posted or is this your personal and undisclosed criteria you pull out to suppress discussion that you may not personally want on your board? Likewise compare my topic post to your criteria and tell me what part is considered a Flame? Man this topic obviously touched a sensitive spot if you are this intent on trying to quash or limit it in some way! Which seems like a silly thing to do as it draws in all kinds of posters and activity to your board. Which if I may observe is the life blood of web sites such as this.

Your not just a member you are a moderator/admin. No flames have been posted as of the time of your post (the 2nd post) that reasoning adults can’t handle even though some 30 odd posts have now accumulated. Are you taking the position that you have the ability and right to pass judgment beforehand on a topic that conforms to the rules of the forum and make acerbic demeaning comments on it before any discussion is entered into or flame posted? If that isn’t censorship I don’t know what is and IMO is poor form for a moderator. Unless it is your intent to limit discussion to topics that conform to your tastes and POV only. I mean WOW how many flames and what type were you expecting out of the question “What is your solution for terrorism.†With a clearly comical list of solutions that positively dripped sarcasm? Once again if you feel compelled then assume another identity and post anonymously. It’s the only fair thing to do. But perhaps as I have just recently found fairness is one of those undisclosed criteria that need not be adhered too.

Awww not going to lose any sleep, I’m surprised that with your precognitive vision you didn’t see and accuse/assume that was my intent also. FWIW I will also call down on the Mods/Admins when they are acting like extremist or just plain Asshats, which in this case you are perilously close to doing. BTW self/spell check your own righteousness as the “Spelling Nazi’s†are lurking as well as the self-righteous patrol. <_<

Goodnight sleep tight don’t let us itty bitty bedbugs bite we are just posters that have a different POV that would like an unbiased forum to get-it-on in.

    [attachmentid=4738]

p.s. please read my earlier response to other accusations of bloviation and diatribing. It’s my topic and I will bloviate and diatribe to my hearts content unless there is another undisclosed criteria I am breaking. Besides my style is neither overly pompous nor boastful, bitter, abusive or critical so I couldn’t possibly be guilty of bloviating or diatribing. Just the facts son, and that there is a bit of sarcasm. Didn’t want you to miss it again. If that seems a bit extreme. . .[attachmentid=4736] [attachmentid=4739][attachmentid=4740][attachmentid=4739] [attachmentid=4736]

Can we have a "hide topics started by" option, please?

I really think I'd find it a lot more useful than "ignore posts by", as these loons occasionally have something useful to say, but some in particular seem to never start a productive thread. I mean, just look at Wildkow's topics list. It seems to me as though he's just on the wrong forum, but presumably he just enjoys being somewhere he can be "contrarian". No doubt posting on The Free Republic would just be too dull. But personally I could really do without the pointless trolling diatribes they initiate cluttering up my "get new posts" view.

The good thing about "ignore user" is you can show individual posts of theirs at your discretion, but it makes it really easy to just not read them unless you think there might be something of value there.

We'd be hiding alot of topics here from both sides of the coin.
If you dont like a post, then just dont read/reply to it. ;)
    Its really that simple.
    *********************************
It really isn't funny how fast the finger pointing starts, regarding postings made by independents or democrats that are conservitive or middle of the raod republicans. We all argue our points until we are blue in the face, I guess we agree on some points but we will never get the other to see things the way we see them. The extreme left will continue to bring up past posts, put down you and your family, point out you can't spell ect.ect. then they get the others riled up then the flaming starts, then the moderators have to step in. and someone gets suspended, and the extremists cruise to the next post to gang up on the next person only to laugh about it later amogst themselves.. (Welcome to Romper Room) .

The only persons that end up looking bad is the persons doing the pointing The extreme romper roomers. they look bad to those guests that read the posts from the net, but they don't care they will just blame it on the non liberalists ;).
