Not sure if anyone else has had this issue -

I have motorola phone attached via bluetooth. It won't incorporate my addressbook, but that is ok. My problem is - as I am driving if I hit the "off hook" button the screen goes straight to speed dial which is blank. I try to hit to the return button in the upper right which then does open the number pad. However they are all grayed out and I cannot input the number I need to dial. Sometimes after I wait for 15-20 minutes the numbers will become bold and allow me to input. Other times nothing at all.

Anyone else have this happen and were you able to fix it? Is there a default setting I can change? I've sat and gone thru every setting I could possible find or think of.

    Thank you!

Try it while in "park". You can't dial out while driving. I have a Motorola V557 through Cingular and haven't had any problems. You do have to load your contacts one at a time though.

You can't dial with the keypad unless you're stopped (like parked or at a light). If you want to dial while driving you have to cut a speed sensor wire and install a switch. By turning that wire to "off" it makes the car think it's stopped and you can dial. You have to turn it back on as it's the same wire that sends the signal to the Consumption screen and you'll lose the 5-minute information during the time it's off. If it's only 30 seconds or so, however, you won't lose the info.

Take a look at http://www.darelldd.com/ev/prius_speed_wire.htm to see which wire.

    Yep that did it. Thanks.

Don't they know we can put on makeup, shave, eat, dial, talk on the phone, read a map AND listen to music at the same time? ;)

But that is a good feature...guess I'll get those speed dials programmed in some how.

    Thank you again!
