I don't think they're capable of working on EGR, actually doing a thorough, end-to-end job. If they did it would involve new intake manifold and valve/cooler assembly, and north of $2K.

I really think the dealerships and Toyota corporate have next to zero experience working on this. Owners are either blissfully unaware, till the head gasket blows, or they DIY.

Here’s the last 4 days of driving in our Prime;):

So the engine isn’t used all that often:).

But maybe this intermittent use will exasperate the problem:whistle:.

Only one way to find out(y).

You've been slipping the last couple of days, only 156 mpg...

Traffic has been light and I didn’t get a full charge at work yesterday ;).

Had jury duty so I came in late and left on time, which wasn’t enough for a completely full battery:cool:.

But if you thought the Gen4 is a bunch of lucky stinkers for their mpg, what do you refer to the Prime crowd as:whistle:?

    I call it fantastic (y).

    We’ll get you converted ;).

Think about the mileage you drive now and having a tank of gas last a full year due to in town driving :).

And the only reason you’d use gas would be because you had to:cool:.

I bet you’d still change the oil though(y).

That egr 4th gen is an issue. I yet have to understand how changing its location can be the answer. What else did they do? Probably enlarged the air pathways?
I heard many diesel engines have the same issue. Really dont see the engineering of it that will make me believe problem is solved .well egr pathways clean does not seem to be too much hassle. Im just adding it to my list.

Here’s the first tank of gas in our Prime:

It helped me figure out what this door on the drivers side of the car is for:

    Not bad for a standard Gen4 though(y).

It's funny, driving in the States, on vacation a few years back, I kept feeling like I was back in my childhood.

Kids up here are basically lost, have no clue what a millimeter or an inch is.

None of them can read or write cursive; printing's atrocious too. Or multiply single digit numbers.

We've all got mental groin-pull, from straddling the two systems.
