Don't get what the big deal is, as we used to regularly change out our Lexus oil with this .... and 0w-10 has been out for quite a while. .
Someone mentioned using Idemitsu 0W-16. Too pricey for now, but I want to try them at some point. ZEPRO 0W-16 | Premium Engine Oil | Idemitsu Lubricants
I did say Walmart shelf, obviously other oilweight can be bought anywhere on the www. It’s more of the accepted standard in big stores now, the purpose of the post And its Mobil 1’s version.
We have had it at my employer since December. I am almost thinking of putting it in mine just to see if the viscosity makes a difference to FE.
I have been using this oil: ZEPRO 0W-20 Molybdenum | Premium Engine Oil | Idemitsu Lubricants It has a high viscosity index (due to significant VII usage, which is terrible for piston ring deposits) and its viscosity at 40C is about the same as 0W-16.
That price is no too bad at all, especially compared to Genuine Toyota 0W-20. I still have Toyota 0W-20 I purchased in a case. My trial for a new brand would be after I use them up, say next year?
My father in law purchased a 2020 Corolla SE, which calls for 0w-16 oil. Thank you folks for posting motor oil choices for 0w-16.
Mobil 1 SAE 0W-16 VOA - Bob Is The Oil Guy I just posted this over on bitog. It looks like a decent low-ash oil.
I've been curious about using this on my CT200h. but I honestly don't know if our engines are up to spec, long term. Plus with this being $15-20 more per 5 quarts than Amazon/Supertech 0W-20, you have to ask yourself is it worth the gamble. Until Toyota themselves says it's fine to use, I won't switch. Especially if it doesn't come down in cost.
