First time reporting on my 2 month old Prime. Full battery - city driving 55-58 km. Highway driving at 110kmph - a pathetuc 25 km.. haha.

Now that temperatures are around 60f and rising my mpe’s have gone from 25 to 35. The car is 17 months old and the battery seems to be just fine.

I have to clarify that my driving terrain is absolutely flat. That makes quite a bit of difference. And I use Power mode.

The strangest darnedest thing is happening. Previously, a full charge would estimate 60 km range. After that highway trip I took last Saturday, the full charge range estimate fell down to 53 km the very next day. And the real driving range is also around 51 km only. Bummer!

is the real range down for similar trips as before?

The estimated electric range is calculated based upon your driving pattern over a previous period. (I am not sure if the data used is based upon your MPGe for a previous number of days, number of trips, or number of miles.)

Apparently, your "highway trip" moved the basis for the calculation downward. It will gradually creep back up as you go back to your normal driving pattern.

It is rumored that a future version of the Prime's software will read your mind before each trip, calculate your intended route, adjust for traffic congestion, determine your mood (to determine how aggressively you'll be driving), adjust of ambient temperature, factor in pavement conditions and the probability of your having to stop for each traffic signal on your route and, of course, consider gravitational forces related to the rotation of the planet. :D

Our EV range generally hovers around 35-37 miles (we realistically achieve only 35). Last summer it was getting kind of ridiculous, our estimates were at like 43 miles.

A similar thing happened when I went up a ski hill back in March. It took a few days to gain back those km.

Alright, I agree with the above. The range is slowly creeping up. Good.

Yeah, PRIME's EV is not suited for highway drive. When I have to drive to the congested city via highway from our home, I keep the EV range until I get to the city by driving all the way to the city on HV. EV works very well for stop and go traffic.

Our daytime temperature finally got up to 50F. A few days ago, I was able to drive over 30 miles on EV for the first time this year. Finally!!!

Keep in mind that the Guess-O-meter is an estimate based on some algorithm. How far you can actually go depends on the temperature, terrain, speed and your driving habits. Lately I've been starting out with a guess value of 32.5 miles. If I go to the local market 6.6 miles distant, I still have about 28 miles on the Guess-O-meter. When I get back home it is about 21 miles. Yesterday I ran some errands, 28 miles with 5 stops, all EV and still had 8 miles on the Guess-O-meter. All surface streets about half at 50 MPH but not many "traffic controls".

Although I do not know what algorithm they use to guess the range displayed when the battery is full, after you start driving on EV, the remaining miles displayed is definitely not a simple subtraction of miles you have actually driven from the initial range guessed. It constantly adjusts the miles remaining. Most of the times it overestimates, but it is always 100% accurate when it reaches to zero EV range. You never have a case where the GOM EV range displays -- miles and still able to drive EV mode.
